Hello,

I came here to the US with a K1 visa and got married within the 90 days.

Since then we had so much financial problems that the money for my AOS was just not there.

I mean it is around 500 Dollars to file all that.

From the Immigration Center I got the information that I have to file this at the latest 6 month after the marriage. So I got 2,5 months left.

I did not ask how my actual working status is, I heard that with my K1 visa I could have worked, but now??

Does anyone have knowledge about this inbetween status that I have?

Can I have a 1099 job at least?

thanks

Pepi

I say don't work without the EAD, it could come back to haunt you

Hi,

thanks for the hint about "waiver of fees"

I have already found some information on the USCIS homepage.

So I am surely not allowed to work, well, I will not take that risk after all we went thru to get the visa, four years of a long-distance relationship etc.

My information is to pay 325$ plus 70$ for the I-485 and fingerprints, also 180$ for the I-765.

Is this all to be payed at once?

No other way? like getting started with one and follow up later?

Pepi all fees have to be paid when you file.... you could save money by not applying for the I-765 and just do the I-485 as some people are getting their interviews in 3 months and only have their EAD for a few weeks before they are aprroved....
