Your checked in bags will be sent directly to Atlanta where you will need to pick up and then go through customs with. You will be given the I-94 and this will be used when you arrive in Atlanta.

From what I remember from my wife's trip, she had travel taxes to pay. You will receive all the boarding passes as long as your flights were all booked together.

For Delta all the fees were included in the cost of the tickets. At least for the wifes flight at the beginning of Dec.

We had a 4 hr layover in Atlanta to be safe but we were thru immigration in 30 minutes.

Make sure you have done your CFO or you won't be leaving the PI! I have seen this step missed in the past!

You should get all of your boarding passes when you checkin at Manila.

Once your arrive Narita, you will go through security after you deplane. It's very quick and simple. Once through security, you will go to the gate for you Atlanta fight. Or, you can go shopping in the few duty free shops they have.

Atlanta will be your POE. After immigration and customs, you will collect your luggage. There should be a Delta counter you give the bags to. You should have luggage tags all the way to Ft. Walton on your bags when checked in in Manila. Once you turn your bags back in to Delta, you will have to go through security once more and then on to you gate.

Good luck and enjoy your flights.

You shouldn't have to pay taxes if you purchased the air tickets in the Philippines. In NAIA, you will stand in line and go to an immigration officer when called up. They will ask you what you are going to to when you reach your destination. They will check your passport and visa. Less then 2 minutes you are processed through.

My wife (then fiancee) and I left PI from Cebu, but she and my stepdaughter had to pay their tieza tax prior to departing the country. we went to that counter after checking in and before we went through immigration and paid the terminal fee. Also, before any of that, be sure that you schedule and attend your CFO session, because you won't be allowed to leave the country without that stamp in your passport. Good luck to you!

When you arrive in Atlanta, you will go through immigration and customs. First you will go through the immigration line where the immigration officer will open and inspect your visa packet (don't open it or break the seal prior to that!). After they approve your visa, you will continue on to baggage claim and collect your bags. Then you will go through customs. After clearing customs, you will need to recheck your bags and check in for your flight to Fort Walton. Be sure you have several hours at least 3-4, ( I'd recommend 4 to be safe), because it can sometimes be very busy and Atlanta is a very large airport.

1) NAIA - You need to pay your travel tax if not included in your ticket. Terminal fee should be included in your ticket, if not you will need to pay that as well. No, do not need to go to the immigration office.

2) NARITA - If you were given all your boarding passes at NAIA you only need to go to your gate for the flight to Atlanta. NARITA is a big terminal. (I-94 is online and is not issued until you clear your POE Altanta)

3) ATLANTA - Yes this is your POE. Ask the first agent you see what counter you need to go to , there you will hand over the ENVELOPE, complete biometrics, then once clears by the immigration office your will process to collect your luggage, after that you will clear customs - this is where you turn in the declaration form you completed on the airplane. Once through customs you will check your bags in with the airline you are traveling then proceed to your gate.

thank you so much for all your help

merry Christmas and happy new year

how about the i-94 form do i need to do online and print in normal bond paper right ?

Yes normal bond paper is fine.

Atlanta airport is huge with four terminals and a tram to travel between each. Go online and go to that Atlanta airport website and become familiar with the airport map and the location of your gates. If you are unsure then ask any uniform individual and they will help. Guys pushing a wheelchair know the airport inside out. Good source for directions. Good luck.

K1 / CR1 are immigrant visas. I94 is not required.

At NAIA have at least P2500 available in case you have to pay terminal fee and exit tax. If you don't need it for those reasons, buy some final souvenirs or snacks for the trans-PAC flight.

As a first time traveler, I'd recommend going to flightaware.com and enter each of your flight #'s. You can see the departure and arrival gates, then look at the airport layout to see where the gates are and how to get there. At NRT the gates are in the same terminal, different concourses. They have moving walkways in most concourses, so just hop on and enjoy the ride. There's no customs or immigration at NRT since you are just transiting. You will have to go through departure security again. BTW, they won't let you pass bottled water from your arrival flight. Drink it or toss it.

Been ages since I transited ATL but I'm sure you will have to take a train to change terminals from international terminal to domestic. Takes about 5 min or so once you get to the agent. He'll ask for your passport and the embassy packet. After clearing immigration, go to the designated baggage belt, then proceed to customs. At ORD we were directed to another inspection area for immigrants versus USC's. More likely than not there won't be an interior inspection, just another x-ray scan. After clearing this area, take your bags to the designated Delta bag transfer point, drop them off and then proceed to the final concourse / gate. As always don't be shy and ask as many questions for directions as necessary. Being timid is not a virtue here,

I'd suggest having at least $100 on you to cover possible unexpected needs along the way.

Make sure your checked bags are checked all thy through to Ft. Walton at NAIA. I'd also recommend only taking a light carry on with a change of cloths, comfort necessities, and any valuables you don't trust to be in your checked bags, along with your visa pack. It will make transiting NRT and ATL somewhat easier.

Maligayang Pasko and welcome to the US.

CR-1 is immigrant visa. K-1 is a non-immigrant visa, I-94 is required.

Again goes to show you how little I know about the differences between the 2. Just assumed they were the same.

So where then does the I94 come from? On line, On plane, At immigration kiosk?

And for the OP or anyone else reading, I apologize for the mis-information in my post. I do believe however the rest was correct.
