Hi there everyone!

I just wanted to ask for your experiences with how long it takes to process your visa after an approved interview at the embassy and receive your passport back. I had my interview at the London Embassy on December 10th 2015. Everything went very smoothly and I was told that I am approved ( I even double checked to see if it was an approval lol ) and the CO said that I can expect to have my passport back within a week especially as they took down my flight date which was December 22nd and would do their best to get everything back to me for then.

As of right now I still have not received my passport back, no emails, no text messages, no information what so ever. When I search for my case on CEAC it says that the case creation date was 15th of December and the last update was the 15th of December (5 days after my interview) Also for anyone wondering, I didn't receive anything at the interview I was just given an approval and told that all of my stuff will be with me within that week.

I have emailed them and had a response of "your visa is in the final stages of processing" and basically for me to just be patient. I know that no one here will have a magical answer as to how long it will take but I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar? My case has been sitting in the Administrative Processing status since December 15th (apparently final stages of processing according to the email but not sure if that's just something they say to everyone).

My first flight date has already been missed, I now can't make it for Christmas and it's just very VERY disappointing to check every day and see that absolutely nothing has changed. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much, Happy Holidays and I hope all of your journeys are going well!

This is the thread in the UK FORUM where people have posted how long it took them to get the passport back. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/550974-interview-date-to-visa-in-hand-how-long-2015-data/?p=7908712

And this post in the London K1 Guide discusses after the interview and why some are delayed. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide-do-not-post-questions-in-thread/?p=6741253

Every case is different. It took my fiancée 3 trips to the embassy and finally got her passport and visa back. It was 4 weeks. It took a lawyer and some emails to make them move. It can be frustrating. Be persistent.
