My wife had her visa interview 12/21/15. At the end of the interview the CO told us everything was approved but they needed a copy of her birth certificate an d our marriage certificate certified.

Got the documents later that same day. Was told that we didn't have to go back to the embassy for another interview and to drop the documents off a mailbox etc location with the passports.

Mailed the documents and passports on 12/22 and embassy received them on 12/23.

Are we gonna be stuck in some AP loop for another 30 - 90 days?

Hopefully only a couple of weks, but the holidays can slow things down as embassy staff go home to see their own families.

Ok so here are some updates as far as I can see. I sent the requested paperwork to the embassy as requested on 12/22/15.

They received the paperwork and when I went online to check visa case status it showed a status update on 12/23/15 (which I figured was the receipt of the documents).

Checked back a couple days later and it shows another Status date of 12/29/2015.

I checked the status again today and it shows a new status update date of 01/26/2016.

The reason I received the 221(g) was for the original copy of our marriage certificate and my wife birth certificate. Could these updates by any chance be any good news that they are working on finishing processing the visa. The interviewer told us everything was good we just needed those 2 papers which we sent the next day after interview.

Also forgot to mention that my wife is now pregnant and she is nervous because she what to be here with me and the distance and stress isnt good for her or the baby.

Yes, the updates mean they are working on your case. I also had my interview on December 21st and got a 221(g) for updated documents. Our status changed on CEAC every time the embassy worked on our case.

Looking at your dates, I would think the 23rd is when they received your documents, the 29th is when they reviewed the new documents and for January 26th, they're either sending you a request for more information again or they're getting ready to approve your case and print the visa. Hoping for the latter for you.

I hope the update for the 26th of Jamuary was they we getting ready to issue the visa for her. She we so excited especially that she is pregnant now and it's even worse with the distance between us.

Hello hope you can help me with my situation

I had my interview last march 8,2016. They are requesting for a DNA test, because my son was late regestred on his birth certificate. The consul ask me why it's take 6 years before I get a birth Certificate I give reason but they don't accept. I proceed to the releasing area then the girl said my son and I will do the DNA TEST then give my passport back to me. This is te email I receive from them

We are unable to complete the processing of your Immigrant Visa application under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), as amended, until you present the following documents or complete required action from your end:

Request DNAbetween DERIV (JEREMY) and biomom (BABY JOCELYN)

My question is after we complete the DNA test are they going to interview us again? Or go back there to give our passport?
