I am a permanent resident (green card) of the us and will be traveling with Mexican passport to Mexico. My passport will expire February 19,2016. My trip is from December 23 2015 to January 4, 2016. The lady at the airline counter told me I might have an issue when re entering the US. Since my passport should not be expiring within 90 days of my arrival. I live and work in the US and my trip to Mexico is for vacation. Any advice ? Is this true? How do I tell IO when I enter the US?

You have a valid green card. You will be allowed back in. Not a problem.

After this trip, make sure you renew your Mexican passport and keep it current. There are Mexican consulates in San Jose, San Francisco, and Sacramento.
