I am a little bit confused. This morning I received an e-mail form USCIS saying :

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On December 23, 2015, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice for Receipt Number MSC1690173991. Your interview is on January 29, 2016. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by January 22, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

The reason why I am confused is .. January 29th - is it the date of my interview ? I red that people first get ready to schedule for interview and then they wait for a while to know when the interview will take place.

Another thing is ... Can I have interview when the I-130 is not approved yet ?

Third thing - I just had my biometric appointment on Dec. 4th and I haven't heard anything from I-765.

And is it possible that I have interview scheduled barely 3 months after I sent all paperwork.

Yes, January 29th is your interview date. What is the confusion?

The interview leads to your case approval, not the other way around. I received my GC 3 months after they received my paperwork, so yes, it can happen. Lucky you!

I am not sure what you mean by this. What is the "get ready to schedule for interview" step/procedure you were thinking of?

When an interview notice is mailed to your home, it includes the date and location. It would be silly to list one and not the other simultaneously. Good luck!

I know, I mean ... Many people first get something like " Ready to schedule for interview" and they still don't know their date of interview and then after few weeks they get the date of interview.

And is it the interview where my spouse is being interviewed too ?
