Questions regarding interview

I need to know if anyone knows how long we have to schedule interview in Ciudad Juarez once we receive the letter. My fiancé had some issues when getting his passport and it has put us behind about 2 months. And also I would like to know how long it usually takes to get appointment once you schedule it, is it within days or weeks or what.Thanks in advance for all of your help.

What letter are you talking about? the NOA2?

The letter from the consulate to make interview appointment. His NOA2 expires February 6, 2016.

You can schedule the appointment in the CDJ consulate, the medical and the ASC before the expiration of the NOA 2.

thanks but I think we may run into a problem because his NOA2 expires February 6, and he will not have his passport until mid February possibly late February because he had to go through the process of correcting his birth certificate and If I am not mistaken I don't think I can fill out the DS160 without his passport.

Can I ask what problems he has with his passport? usually the SRE (Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores en México) issue the passport the same day of the appointment.

Yeah he need his passport for fill the DS-160.

It is a correction in his birth certificate through the registro civil or he have to go through the court?

the problem came in when he went to go get his new copy of his birth certificate and was told that his birth certificate that was in the books at the Registro Civil appeared to have been altered. He was sent to his mothers birthplace to get a certified copy of her birth certificate, a copy of his baptism record and many other documents and was able to turn them in last week. They told him that he would have the corrected birth certificate back within a month and a half. Then once he gets his birth certificate then he can go get his passport.
