How long did it take to get your interview letter after you sent packet 3 documents to the embasy?

Hi Sunny,

We filed I-129F in Sept 2015, sent docs in response to packet 3.5 in 3rd week of Dec 2015 and my interview was in 2nd week of Jan 2016.

I was told in the interview that everything looked good and that the courier service will contact me in around a month's time with my passport since the embassy needs some time for additional processing. When I came back and checked the status on CEAC website, it showed in "AP". My heart literally skipped a beat. It stayed in "AP" for 2 days and then went to "Ready".

I am hoping this is a normal pattern and it will not take a lot of time for them to complete the processing.

Sunny, is your case in AP currently? When did you file?

Hello FNM.

Thanks for asking, my interview was good. It was short and the CO was very nice about everything. i got the same response. He said everything is good and we need further processing. my status say AP. I am not sure about further statuses though cuz I have yet to experience them lol. hope we all get the ISSUEd status soon.

Edit: So your status say Ready for how long? Did you also put your case number in the NIV? I have heard it changes from IV to NIV at the end.

RKX, so glad to hear your interview went well :) They kept your passport, right? Oh and also, did the CO give you a white sheet with 221(g) ticked?

My status has been "Ready" for around 12 days now in the IV category. When I put my application ID in NIV category, it says "No Status" and shows Case creation date of when I submitted my docs.

This whole visa process gives me the chills :huh2:

Good luck to us all. Hoping for the best :)

Thank you. Yes they kept my passport and got the paper with 221g. How about when you put your case number in NIV. ISLXXXXXXX? Invalid case number?

After my interview I asked one of the employee if I have to pay for a courier or give my info they said no. Same?

We filed K1 the 3rd week of Sept. CO kept passport and said everything looked fine and that it would take 2-3 weeks. He did not give us any slip or anything. It is currently in AP and it says nonimmigrant when I put in the case #. When I use the other number, it also says AP, but before it went to READY, it said, "No status."

Oh phew @ you got the 221(g) paper too. You have no idea how I reacted to that. When I came back home and saw that paper, i freaked out. Went on CEAC website just to find out my case status updated to "AP" and i freaked out more. I called my fiance and threw a huge tantrum saying my visa is not approved, i was mistaken. And he was like :huh2: ??? LOL !!!

Yea, I tried that too. Invalid case number.

And no, I did not ask any employee about anything. Just walked straight out after my interview. But, they must have given you a form to fill in phone numbers and email ids of your fiancee and yourself? I was given one when I went on the biometrics counter. I filled that in and gave it to the CO when my interview started. I am assuming it was for the courier purposes.

Ha. I had the same reaction. When the CO said everything is good I was like OmG the next thing hes going to say is you are approved. Then he gave me another paper (The one you mentioned) to fill out cuz the bio-metrics guy gave me the wrong one (assuming every category has a diff paper). I filled it out and went to the counter and i was so happy I can't put it in words.

The CO however took the paper and said everything is fine once again but then he pick up the white paper and I was back on the ground. I made a sad face and said I guess we have to put our wedding plans on hold for a while. He said you don't need to worry, its just a necessary process that will take some time.

Sunny, praying the same too for us all. This too shall pass, soon, very soon :clock:

RKX, lol @ I was back on ground. Gosh, that sounds so familiar haha

Btw, I just checked on CEAC website and my case status has been updated to "AP" again with case creation date of today. It is also showing under NIV category now. However, the NIV category only accepts application ID; if I enter my case # there, it still shows Invalid.

So,

Select IV + Case # = AP
Select NIV + app ID = AP

Let's wait and watch what's next ..... :pop:
