hi every one, my wife she is us citzien and we have been marry for 3 years alreday, and im going to apply for us citizenship soon.

i have 2 question plz, 1- if i open Separat bank account this can affect me ? coz we alreday have only one join bank account for long time a go and i never open any sprate account since i came to usa.

question number 2, what i have to do for apply for citizenship ?and wich form i need ?

have you been a GC holder for 3 years as well?

the form is the N400

as long as you use your joint bank account and other evidence of co mingling of finances, there is no problem in having a separate account

thank you so much for ur help, yes i got my first GC For 2 years and i renew it for 10 years but idid not really finish 3 years of living in usa.when u said evidence of co mingling of finances what did u mean >? thanks!!

the same evidence that you used to remove conditions, but of course updated, 3 years of evidence now

proof of a bona fide marriage, evidence of having things in both your names, joint taxes, joint bank account, bills in both your names, car insurance, medical insurance

things like that

if you already removed conditions, you probably have 3 years of being a LPR or almost, you can file for citizenship up to 90 days before you being a LPR for 3 years

The new bank account in just your name will not affect you. Be sure to reference the joint account when applying though.
