Hi everyone,

I am asking you for something that i really need help. I am under F1visa here and i just finish my first term here, and i am in a relationship with a girl for almost 5month now.. We're planing to move together after new year, and we were talking about getting married.. Its not about green card or whatever.. But we wanna get married and start a family, but i am afraid that i will get deported, because they may think that i am doing this just to get a green card.. How long should i stay with her!!?? Is there any specific time to stay together before getting married !?

Please let me know, because i am really stressed out ?

Thank you

File the paperwork to begin the AOS status as soon as you have the marriage certificate in hand (you will need to make a photocopy of it when the paperwork is filed).

There is no time period regarding how long you have to be together before you get married and file your paperwork.

You have been lawfully admitted to the US, as long as you did not misrepresent yourself at anytime, then you shouldn't have any problems.

Marry when you guys decide and once you get your marriage certificate start the process you should be fine. The only thing you have to be concerned about like any other adjustment applicant is proving bona fide marriage. Once you guys get settled start compiling joint evidence like leases, financial accounts (checking, savings, credit cards), insurance ( car, health, life), membership cards etc. send what you can initially, and take whatever you've gathered later on on the day of your interview.
