Hello everyone, this might be a difficult question but anyway:

My fiancé lives in Mexico and we are currently processing a k1 visa so that we can get married. If everything goes well we expect to have the visa in hand by the end of February and the wedding early to mid march. We are trying to do everything we can so that her parents can come to the wedding in the US. There case isn't great but it's not terrible either, her mom worked for 20-30 years in a court house as a lawyer and is now retired and receiving her pension and her dad works as a laborer in a government run museum.) Her parents would like to wait until my fiance has her visa in hand until they go to the interview so that they can show the consular officer that they'll be coming to the US to attend their daughters wedding. They said that they fill like it will really help there case. The thing is this will push our wedding back a month which I am entirely fin with if it will help. However if it won't make a difference we would like to start processing there visa beforehand.

Their reason for going to the US is irrelevant and their daughter's wedding does not increase their chances of getting visas. Apply now or after she gets her visa does not matter.

Dangerous to plan a March wedding when you anticipate a February approval. What happens if the visa is not issued in February?

That's what I figured and told them but I wanted a second opinion.

And oh no, we just figured we'd plan the whole wedding in two weeks instead. It's going to be small and at my church so we won't have anything to book or reservations etc. and we'll have all the decorations and everything prepared. So it'll all be good :)
