I am writing for a German friend. She needs a lawyer to help her with her case in Karlsruhe, Germany, concerning her inheritance. She wants to know if she needs an American lawyer who can help her with this case in Germany, or does she need a local German lawyer? Either way, does anyone have a lawyer to recommend?

Thanks in advance!

A German lawyer well versed in German estate law is what she would need.

An American lawyer would most likely not know about estate laws in Germany unless they are qualified to practice there as well. She could try and find someone who practices both in America and Germany to maybe make it easier.

Someone like this: http://www.kaiwesselslaw.com/Estate-Planning/International-Estate-Matters.shtml

or this: http://www.weinhardt-law.com/

Edit: I have not used the above law firms -- just some examples as to what type of lawyer she should probably hire
