The K1 will be purposely expire and you will have to re file a K1 or marry and file a CR1.

You can try to immediately contact your state senator (google him) and after sending your privacy release by fax to him he can request a

second interview on your behalf which they however don't have to grant you. If they do fly there and submit all the evidence you have of time

spend together and communication from day one to current.

If you have to re file make sure you front load the petition.

My FB soap box advice :

People say they do not put each other on FB to share with their friends because of stalkers or whatever.

If anyone has stalkers then for Pete's sake change your settings for your privacy. Simple fix.

Our profile photo has always been one of both of us together since we have committed to each other on his and mine so it works great for us

and I am proud of my now hubby and glad to share my happiness with my circle of friends I choose to share with for the past 6 years.

I don't have insight to your culture of sharing an engagement but do not see why that has to be kept a secret.

If you keep your profile private as you should then a CO can't view your postings (unless they go through a back door) but had she seen the open

profile pic of you together it could have turned out differently who knows. They do not like keeping friends and family in the dark of a relationship.

If you have a public non private newsfeed where the whole world including the CO can see your postings and there isn't anything hinting to a

relationship or occasional post or comment then they sometimes go by that and refuse, it's not the first time this has been posted about FB.

Secretly kept relationships sometimes smell of fraud and they don't care why you keep them secret, it is what it is, good luck explaining that.

Handle social media with common sense and having a small acknowledgement and photos with a fiance with the right privacy settings should not be a problem

for anyone in my opinion. Whoever has issues with it you can delete. Your wall- your life- your choices.

I would not set myself up for the sake of secrecy to be refused knowing they check social media. Just my 2 cents.

I would approach the request for another interview with the " we wanted to keep our relationship on social media private because of.......(hope you have a believable reason) and am offering this additional evidence ( everything but the kitchen sink) as evidence of our bona fide relationship and engagement

Works great....no problems so far. Since all my family, his family and friends for both are most important for us.

I never cared what people thought of me. Exspecially ones I never met and don't know. Immigration is one thing, u must be an open book. Just facebook isn't immigration...

My facebook is for work... all my real friends and family have all our pics texted to them ;-)

And immigration can have our over 3000 pics from 3 years, no worries. Some don't live to display everything on social media for strangers and unfortunately most of my people are this.

Definitely not strangers but friends and family usually know if someone is engaged to be married.

Depends if u need it. We have so many messages from emails and skype etc etc. Some people just are not big on facebook. I noticed alot of my friends overseas don't post photos at all of themselves ever. For me I'm american, I don't care u see me. Just alot are this way.... for what ever reasons it's on them

OP stated they did not post any photos of them on FB but CO was looking for it and didn't get it because the relationship on their accounts

does not reflect that there is a relationship between them which made them suspicious. The burden to convince is on the couple not the CO.

Thousands of pages of other evidence can satisfy many CO's but there is always that one CO asking for something you may think you did not need

or have a right to not have.

It is their right of course to not post photos on their FB page of each other to forfeit a visa, of course it is.

Every choice has consequences though and assuming the CO will accept your reasoning of your rights usually won't go over well.

Do not wait for K 1 to be reaffirmed in USCIS / it will die and you will never hear a thing

Return and marry

and do an affidavit from a parent or close family member as culture and religion do not allow photos to be posted

My husband is muslim / he and his freinds do not post photos of wifes on any social media / it says he is married and the date of marriage

They know this in his Lebanon and are just using this as a way to delay you

Do not give up a real love / fight for your happiness

Look, it's not fair (at least in your case) but immigrating from anywhere in the middle east right now is probably highly scrutinized. In fact, one congressman submitted a bill to suspend K-1 visas totally (from everywhere.)

So go the extra mile and create as much evidence of an actual relationship as possible. Even if this means using Facebook.

The Senate is currently drafting legislation that would force the FBI and other U.S. law enforcement agencies to review social media accounts when performing mandatory background checks on potential refugees and visa applications, according to an advance draft of the bill reviewed by theWashington Free Beacon.

The legislation seeks to close current loopholes that prevented the FBI and Department of Homeland Security from reviewing social media accounts belonging to the accused San Bernardino attackers, who reportedly expressed support for ISIS and other known extremist groups on these accounts.

The language is being inserted into a larger counter-terrorism bill that would tighten and bolster background investigations for refugees and visa applicants seeking entrance into the United States.

Currently, the State Department has sole responsibility for vetting potential refugees.

The bill would require additional federal law enforcement agencies to determine whether refugees and potential applicants are a threat to the United States and whether they may have lent support to a foreign terrorist organization.

U.S. law enforcement agencies are reportedly blocked from reviewing social media accounts belonging to visa applicants, according to former officials who spoke to the press. This policy may have contributed to failed efforts by the Obama administration to flag social media postings by the accused shooter Tashfeen Malik that expressed her support for violent jihad.

U.S. officials disclosed in the wake of the San Bernardino terrorist attack that Malik publicly expressed “admiration” for ISIS. The pro-terrorist posting was put on Facebook on the same day the couple is alleged to have carried out the attack.

Malik and her husband, Syed Farook, are accused of committing the mass shooting as part of a terrorism campaign.

The enhanced screening in the proposed legislation could help law enforcement agencies detect potential radicals and terrorist-linked individuals applying for entrance to the United States, according to sources familiar with the legislation.

“There is no excuse in this century to exclude an individual’s social media footprint in a background check. I am drafting legislation to direct the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and others to fully reverse this exclusion and pay full attention to pro-terrorist social media in vetting procedures,” said Sen. Mark Kirk (R., Ill.).

“The deeper we dig into the vetting process, the more holes we find,” said one senior congressional aide who spoke to the Free Beacon. “It’s pretty clear the administration continues to be less-than-forthcoming on just how bad the problems have been. Many lawmakers want to plug the holes now before it’s too late.”

If someone is making posts to support terrorism, homeland security knows. They should check that on anyone living here or coming here. Really any radical person no matter what your cause if it's negative...

You want to submit evidence showing the totality of your relationship from beginning to present. A sampling of photos (together, with friends & family) covering that time is typically submitted along with correspondence (chats, emails, regular mail, etc.), Boarding passes (for air travel to visit and/or travel together), receipts, and anything else you may have that shows the development of your relationship. If the CO was looking on Facebook it may have been because the evidence submitted was thin.

At this point you can try to email the embassy to request another review. If not, you may want to consider marrying and then seeking a spouse visa and be sure to include evidence from the entirety of your relationship with the petition.

So from what I understand. Not sure I do, but here it goes.

She and I don't have a facebook account. Never had.

I do have a flickr account--not sure if that counts as social media. I also have VJ account, with pictures, not sure if that counts as social media.

Question: So as an American, should I set up a FB account and post pictures since it is the American thing to do? Our K-1 petition is still at the NOA1 point. Would it be a good idea to do it now?

She's in Ethiopia, not sure if that is one of the countries of interest.

Any advice?
