call NVC or wait????

Hi everyone,i just wanted to find out if NVC will send the petitioner a mail once they assign a case number to the beneficiary or does he have to call to ask for the case number cuz tomorrow will make it one month and we have still not gotten any case number from NVC even though we called and they told us to wait..its getting too long just for a case number

The NVC will send you a notice and that will have your case number.

I don't really know. I mean once your case is transferred from UCSIS to NVC, you will get the case number once your case is transferred. I actually don't remember the time.

Its best to call. The case# is being assign between 18 to 28 days after petition arrives.

Some are lucky and get email to the email on the I-130. Some have been only getting the welcome letter in the mail. Not email. NVC is all about calling and being proactive.

Hi dwheels,my husband has not received the years tax returns from his company, he said he will receive it end of January because that is when they normally give it out.so should we just wait till end of January to proceed with the case? Because right now it seems we can't do anything further till he receives the tax returns from his company..i just feel time is wasting away,maybe there are some other things we could get ready before that time, please let me know your thoughts..thank you

Why are you waiting unless he has to have 2015 taxes done. It's not due until April 15th.

2014,2013,2012 taxes are required to be filed. The most recent 2014 s required to be sent in. He should have the Tax Transcript by now. That's all he needs.

You could be done in 30 days looking at maybe a March or April interview. Keep waiting even a week that pushes you to May, June, July.

Wow,im sure he had no idea he could use 2012,13,and 14 taxes..il have to tell him then cuz he planned on waiting till January ending to collect the 2015 own..thanks dwheels
