Wow this must be very frustrating for you, Unfortunately AP is can never be sped up, You'll just have to wait it out. I have heard of cases where AP has taken just one week and in other cases one year. I wish you guys get it over with soon !

My fiance has been in AP since September 15th (Egypt).......every month we see there's been an update on our case (some people has been in AP months longer than us and they don't see any updates....but God willing it won't be much longer. ....since everything thats going on here in US they are making things more difficult....and SLOW. Also the US Embassies in Middle Eastern Countries are the slowest in the whole world

I had to contact my Congressman's office who has been helping us through this process. ......He said AP is mostly for extensive background checks. ....so just have patience/sabr .....

Good Luck

If you were to read the instructions given to you, and on the embassy site, it says clearly to not contact them until you have been in AP for 5 months or more.

Hello everyone. We had our interview on Nov. 17 2015. The case was put under administrative processing. I called Ustraveldocs on dec 10 2015. and dec. 13 2015. The status update date changed only on the days i called them. So i waited four weeks to see if it would change on its own. It didnt. so today I called the Embassy to see whats going on and all they said is we cannot provide you with any information until adminstrative processing is over. They told me to call UsTraveldocs. So i did and she tells me that it has been updated today. I told her i knew because it only updates when I call the embassy. She says this isnt true it only updates when something is being added to the case. so I honestly dont know what to think anymore. She says its being updated by the consulate not because i called. I also wanted to know when to submit documents because since our interview we havent provided them with any documents. Very worried. Waiting is killing me. Please help and thank you all. Our creation date is :dec. 27. 2006

What kind of paper where you given at the interview? Did they request more evidence or papers? Just to give you an idea of how our admin processing is unfolding, at my interview, I was given a white 221(g) which stated what documents we needed to send in again plus an address label to put on the envelope to send to them asap.

As far as I know, the status update appears every time your file is opened, which includes when you call.

We werent given any papers. His case was closed. We went in to refile an I 130 . We had the old approved I130 back in 2006 with us. We showed that to the consulate. He left for fives minutes came back and told us not to file a new I130. He said he reopened our case. He also told us to keep track of the CEAC website. and thats its we went home, found out we were put under administrative. processing.

My experience with the CEAC website is your case update date will change anytime you(or anyone else) makes an inquiry. I have made several and the update date always changes as soon as they open the case to get the date of your interview. They simply cut/paste a general answer to everyone using whatever the interview date was that they see in your case. Checking that is what changes the update date.

We have been in AP for 8 months so I have seen this many times. And we received a 221G but it simply stated they needed to review the case and nothing else is needed from us.

I hope we both get out of this soon. Its so annoying, and it keeps us worried. Why dont they just let us know how long to wait and thats it. If they told me to check back in another year u wouldnt care. but i check everyday and its so frustrating when you call cause all they tell you to do is wait. May God make this easier.

The consulate told us we might need a wavier. I have emailed the embassy and uscis to see if we are gonna stay in Ap until we provide a wavier. He has a ten year ban we are going into our 9th year.

If you are only in the 9th year of a 10 year visa ban you will need a waiver for sure. Did you hire a lawyer to help you with the case? I am thinking you should have already applied for the waiver(if they let you) before you ever even went to interview. Or perhaps apply for the waiver right now...I would hire a US immigration lawyer that does these sort of cases for your specific country frequently so you have help.
