Hi Guys,

Hoping I can get some advice as my situation isn't standard. I recently received my CR-1 visa (YAAAY) but due to my current working situation I don't think I can move to USA anytime soon.

I see everywhere that the CR-1 is supposed to be valid years from the entry date but mine in my passport says valid for 1 yr from that date,, Is that normal? We married in 2014.

I don't think I'll be able to move within the next 1 or 2 years so I'm concerned I will have pretty average initial evidence and I'm residing in Australia. I'm going to visit him in a couple months but I'm not technically living with him.. so on the form I'm concerned as to what address i should put? Is it my address in America? Even though I'm only there a few weeks in the year? I'm obviously fine to fly over for my biometrics or whatever I have to do but I'm not sure on the moving date.. might be a couple years!

Otherwise I may have to change my working situation but I have been given a great opportunity that pushes my USA move forward :/

Please help!!!

Thank you :)

If you're not living in the US, just visiting occasionally, then you won't be able to remove conditions. Wait and reapply for the spouse visa when you are ready to move to the US.

***** moving from CR-1 spousal visa to ROC forum *****

The CR-1 is a one entry visa, and it sounds like you have used that one entry.

A green card is for someone who wishes to reside in the US. If you aren't intending to live in the US then you aren't entitled to a green card, and any RoC application your file is unlikely to be approved.

Well, you have to sacrifice your career in the name of having a family and living with your husband. In your case you choose career before marriage and this is bad.

There will always be another work opportunity, but chances of meeting the right person like you did are very minimal. So ditch the job and go to USA, live with your husband and be happy.

hi

as said, you can't have both, or you choose your job

or you choose your husband and forget about that job, the GC is for living in the US, so you would have to forfeit your GC and reapply when ready to come to US for good if you choose the job
