Here's what I can tell you. We got our approval from the NVC for our K1 visa application and just a few days later received an email from the Cairo Embassy.

I was surprised because it was so quick. We never got anything in the mail. But the text of the email matches what Packet 3 would request. The email said the following:

Please prepare the following documents for each person applying for a visa and send them to our office via Aramex courier service:

1. Photocopy of passport (the original to be submitted on the appointment date)

2. Photocopy of birth certificate

3. A copy of your divorce certificate (If previously married and divorced)

4. Police certificate from your country of nationality if you are 16 years old or older

5. Police certificate if you lived in a different country for more than 12 months and you were 16 years or older at that time.

6. An Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) signed by the Petitioner.

7. Petitioner’s most recent year of federal income taxes (form 1040 only). Please also bring the most recent W2 form and a job letter indicating current salary and length of employment

8. Medical exam for applicant as attached, medical examination report should be submitted on the day of the visa interview. Applicants are advised to schedule their medical examination 3weeks prior to the date of their visa interview.

9. Applications: DS-160 application online application form: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/, please print the confirmation page and send it along with the documents.

10. 2 photos face view photos with a white background for the applicant-(5*5) Passport size with white Background (no modifications or touch ups permitted)

11. Copy of CIB receipt.

12. Fees: Login to your profile at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg, print your deposit slip ( CGI ) and pay the fees 265$ at your local CIB bank.

Scheduling of appointment:

The Cairo IV unit will be moving to applicant self-scheduling system starting on December 1, 2015 for certain types of cases. Applicants will be able to select their own appointment date from a list of available slots.

So fine, its not the process that was described here online. But the real problem is STEP 12. There is no deposit slip on that website. No matter what I do or how much I search, its not there.

That means we can't pay the fee and so we are stuck.

I emailed the embassy many times and called the support center. I've gotten no response to my emails. All the support center said was that we would have to wait for the embassy to respond.

My questions are this:

1. Has anyone had this happen, i.e. not find the deposit slip to pay the visa fee?

2. Did anyone get an email and no actual packet 3 in the mail?

3. Does anyone know if the Cairo Embassy is changing the way the system for the fee payment and the appointment scheduling? Perhaps that's the reason for this issue...the system is still in process to be updated?

Nothing I read anywhere seems to match what we are experiencing.

I am so glad I found someone who has the same problem as I do!

We only received an email.

Me and my fiance don't know what to do at that point. we don't know how to get the deposit slip.

After we filed the Ds-160 form and got the confirmation page then we went on this website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/egand made a profile.

We are stuck at step 8 where we can't put in our Case ID number. It says that it is invalid.

We've emailed them several times and no one has gotten back to us.

Yes step 8 is the same place we are stuck at too.

I've gone through all the steps on that website (http://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg) with making the profile many times just to be absolutely certain I didn't make any mistakes in the information. But there's no getting past the Case ID number on step 8.

I read through the K1 info guides and the embassy info on this site. There's no mention of the deposit slip or paying the visa fee or getting through the profile on ustraveldocs.com/eg.

So my fiancé and I are just confused and without any information on what to do next.

I'll post when/if I get a response from the embassy. Its been about 2.5 weeks now with no reply.

Looks like we are going through the same problem. It has been 2.5 weeks too. we received the email on Dec. 3rd and we've been waiting.

My fiance tried calling several times. Last time, they told him that we have to wait until the case number is loaded. What does that mean?

I am actually visiting him in a few days. I will try to go to the Embassy and see what they are going to tell me.

Hope I get answers!

Will post here if I get any information.

Good luck to us!

watch min 3:25. We are definitely on the right track!!!

I'm so glad we're experiencing the same things. That's a relief!

We called the visa support center about a week ago and all they told us was we had to wait for further instructions from the embassy. We were told there are different ways to pay the fee but that they aren't authorized to say what those ways are because its up to the embassy based on our individual case.

I'm not sure about the case number being loaded...that's not something I've seen/heard before.

I hope you have a good trip.

Good wishes!

Ok we finally got an email from Cairo IV saying we should send all our documents without the payment slip. Then they will inform us on when we should go on and schedule our appointment online and pay.

Hope this helps!

Good luck ?

That does help! Thanks for sharing!

We haven't gotten an email but we did send the other documents we had, excluding the payment slip. Its just arrived to the embassy.

I hope we both get to move forward and schedule interviews soon!

Best of luck to us both
