AOS / I-864 negative income due to owning business abroad

I am working on our AOS. I am the petitioner for my husband. I am pretty sure I will require a joint sponsor but I want to get my paperwork right so that I don't have any delays.

The problem is that my income is all foreign earned because I am living overseas. I am not technically considered self-employed, though my 'income' comes from a distribution from a trust related to a company that I am a director of.

I have a 1040, and a 2555EZ. I also have a net operating loss that has given me a negative number for line item 22 on the 1040 (total income). The form does not accept a negative number so I am hesitant to print it and scan it to add a negative number.

I don't think I will have access to the transcripts terribly soon as I only filed in November. When I try to file for the transcripts online, it says the info they have on me doesn't match what I am putting in to the system so I am guessing they don't have it processed just yet.

I have asked my tax professional in the USA for his advice and am awaiting a response, but I don't think he will have experience with the AOS.

Does anyone have any advice on getting this portion of the form right?

In the end I did print and scan to add the negative number. I knew that I needed a joint sponsor. There were no questions asked about my AOS, probably because it didn't meet the criteria no matter what.
