My family is all under my mother's car insurance policy to save money by bundling the car insurances together. I'm planning on buying my wife a car, but to get her under my family's policy the car needs to be registered in my mother's name. I was planning on having me and my wife both be on the title, but to save money it makes more sense to put my mother + my wife. I can explain this situation when I file for RoC as it does prove (indirect) financial integration. What do you guys think? The difference would probably be $40-50 a month.

I would spend part of the first month's savings on downloading a will from one of the legal aid websites. Bring two friends with you to your bank and get it notarized. It is great ROC evidence and better for "real life." Don't forget all of the other documents (life insurance, 401K, joint bank accounts, joint credit cards, etc...) Good luck!

Don't get this, had to list all family members driving my vehicles, when my stepdaughter turned 16 wasn't too bad, state law requires an adult to ride with her, in this case, only her mother or me. 17 was murder, she could drive on her own using my vehicles, since our cars are better, and we have assets, had to carry the maximum liability, comprehensive, and collision. Was liable and with all our assets, could clean me out.

When she turned 18, for her birthday, got her a used vehicle and could title it in her name. Cost of collision and comprehension was darn near more than what the car was worth. And since she didn't own anything, could get by with the limited liability required by our state.

I agreed to pay for her auto insurance, in school at the time, but then she managed to get a couple of speeding tickets, and that skyrocketed her rates another $1,600.00 per year, I am not paying that, she had to get a minimum wage job to pay that extra. One way to teach her how to become more responsible. She is a good careful driver now.

There are lots of ways to prove you meet the conditions for removal. Car title and registration is not a singular go/no go factor. Your insurance company, may however, have a problem if you're not disclosing ownership and usage correctly.
