hello

I live with my parents and my father, who got retired, is the petitioner for my sister living in Korea.

I am going to be a joint sponsor for my sister.

in this case, am I going to file i864 or i864a?

according to http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.html

The sponsor must complete Form I-864 and each household member must complete Form I-864A.

when they say "each household member", it means "all family members living together" or family members, who are father and mom, in their tax files?

Thank you

If you act as a "joint sponsor" you would file an independent I-864.

If you act as your father's "household member", you would file an I-864A, and your income would be counted on his I-864. I-864 instructions describe under what circumstances someone can be considered a "household member". I believe you can be counted if you are listed as his dependent on his tax return, or you live in the same residence as him.

Submit the I-864 yourself along with Dad's. It's a cleaner process as long as your income is sufficient for your household count plus sister.
