Well everyone my husband went to his interview in November. An we got put in AP for more wedding pics and our Cosponsor. My husband forgot to give the officer her AOS package with the other one. So we went all of them back in to the embassy. After being on AP for 1 1/2 mos I looked on the website Thurs and it said that his visa was "REFUSED". We don't know why it was refused but I have an idea. But we haven't heard anything back from them as of this morning. So now we're at a stand still with this process all over again ?.

Hi Mrs. Brown. Sorry to hear that news ☹️ It's been a while since i posted here but i've been keeping track of everyone's updates. I've read a lot of cases like yours from my home country. Their CEAC status changed from administrative processing to REFUSED even though they submitted all the additional documents required by the embassy. Mostly, it has got to do with the problems in medical (especially those that underwent sputum test in the Philippines), or a system glitch, but after a few weeks, their status changed to READY then visa was issued. But it's case to case basis so we won't really know for sure. Have you tried calling the embassy on any details why your status is REFUSED? Pls don't lose hope. I pray everything goes well for you and for all people here waiting for their visas.

Hey everyone, after so long and going through so much finally I can see the light from the tunnel... my husband was granted the visa we are waiting to receive the passport. he said the interview was very short, they ask about our son and that was mainly it. hopefully he gets to miss this baby soon.

many congrats! yes the interview isn't really an interview as such, it's more like going to the post office here and confirming information that's already written on your forms/identification!

Hi everyone!  Happy to report that we finally got to the US in January and have been here for a month now  Amazed at all the abundance here in so many ways.  And how kind and considerate people are.  We're having so much fun and looking forward to what comes next.

How do I check the status of the green card?  I went to the links I found online but they are telling me the numbers I'm putting in are invalid.  I thought I'd write here to let you all know we're finally HERE!  And to ask this.  Thanks so much!  I'm so happy we're finally here!!!

Hi, Blanche. Congratulations!

In my experience, I paid the green card a few days after I arrived. I arrived June 21, paid the green card on June 25th. Every single day I was checking the status of my green card and it was ALWAYS invalid, not until July 26th when a status FINALLY appeared as "Card was mailed to me". I felt a huge relief after that. Haha! On July 29th (3 days after the status change), I recieved my green card in the mail. So I guess you won't really know until the actual card is on its way to you. I know, it sucks. Lol! Here's a sample of my status change after 30 days of being invalid.

Hey dub42 and everyone else!  We have been here since January and settled in Pennsylvania.  Love it here.  All the nature and climate that I missed so much.  Exciting!  Our little boy loves it, too.  Good times.  Not much money but ... at least we're here!  I haven't gotten my DH's green card yet.  I'm off work today so maybe I will go ahead and call immigration.   I called a few weeks ago and they said if it hasn't been more than 120 days then just keep waiting.  Anyone get theirs yet?  Hope everyone is doing well and finally here in the good ol USA! :)

Hey dub42! I finally moved to Michigan, too. I know we previously discussed where we were both moving to, but I forget now where you are. I'm in Ann Arbor!

Hi everyone! Hubby's green card got sent to my parents address... and they were in another state for a few months ... so it got returned!  I had no idea it would get to us so fast.  Now we're awaiting a replacement one.

Anyone know about applying for benefits?  I know my husband is forbidden to get any kind of gov assistance because he was sponsored but ... what about my young son and I?  Our pay checks just are not cutting it, sadly.

Hi Blanche, take this with a grain of salt, but I think the fact that your husband was sponsored has nothing to do with it. The fact is that you two had been married way more than 2 years before you recently entered the US, right? That pretty much means he has full rights to work in the US, About him getting unemployment benefits, well normally one must have worked enough in the US to get unemployment benefits. But since you both had lived in the US in the past, maybe some of his past work in the US would help in that but I don't know, I guess it may depend on if he can still verify his US work in the past and if the unemployment benefits department accepts that past work. Otherwise I hope your co-sponsors can help you out, cause that's what they signed up for.

Good Luck

Thanks Looky!  You're in Philadelphia?  We're about an hour from you if so! :)

I was referring to food stamps in the form of benefits - not unemployment.  I went ahead and applied for them using just my son and I and someone from the office has already been in touch with us to sort it out.  She said food stamps should have no impact at all on my husband's status.  I'm off work today so going to do some more reading up about it to see.  Things are getting better but it would be nice to have a bit of help in that way.  Thanks for your input.
