if your spouse is in Canada and your consulate is Montreal then you can just email the scan document

i got a checklist too and emailed them the next day , they review it every two weeks .

I got the document scanned and emailed it to them - I received this email this morning :(

"Dear Sir/Madam:

You cannot participate in email processing because you already submitted a form or document to the National Visa Center by mail. This means you must continue processing your case by mailing your forms and documents to this address: "

I'm still waiting for them to review the document I re-submitted. They got it on June 24th. I called them yesterday, on hold 20 mins, spoke to a woman for 20 seconds to be told, yes, we got your paper and it can take up to 30 days to review. So frustrating. I want to cry every day. I'm so ready to leave this country. I could actually leave with my son but I don't want to leave my husband on his own here. I don't know if he'd do well alone. :( I found a turtle crossing through our yard today, though, so maybe that's a sign of good luck???? Hope so!!!

did you send the aos, iV document via physical mail ?

if yes then you are not eligible for email processing

for CR1 in Canada , we get the option to chose between physical mail vs email

once selected we cannot change back

i am assuming you sent you aos,IV documents via physical mail

then you need to send the RFE documents via physical mail only

FYI email processing is much faster as compared to physical mail ( 2 weeks processing )

lets hope they reply you quickly

but when you received the email about sending them all the documents they must have mentioned you this link

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

it states if your case starts with MTL ( Montreal ) you have the option for physical and email submission

Oh Okay, Sanil.

Well for us laggards that go at a snails pace. I sent NVC an email just telling them that we will be sending them the AOS and IV packages by the end of September so they don't think we've given up on our case or something.

For even better news, I got a new job starting August 1st, so now I don't need a co-sponsor on my I-864.

Just thought I'd post this for anyone who wants to contact NVC.

Also some info that they gave for anyone that might be delaying the NVC process a little.

Here's NVC reply to my email which I didn't send thru their official form and didn't put birth dates on it. But anyway they verified for me what I wanted to know, which is that I can delay sending the AOS and IV package without any issue.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for contacting the National Visa Center. We can only provide you with a detailed response if you submit your inquiry or response with all of the following information:

Name of the person submitting the inquiry;

NVC case number or USCIS receipt number;

Petitioner's name; and

Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.

NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based (I-140), include the company or organization name.

Please resubmit your inquiry with this information using the Public Inquiry form on our website:

https://secureforms.travel.state.gov/ask-nvc.php

IMPORTANT:

If your visa petition is currently processing at the National Visa Center, do not let more than one year pass without contacting NVC. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.
