Congrats Jikky! That must feel great!

We're still waiting here. Got an email this morning saying they got my 2nd package - the one with the 2 documents I already sent them but for some reason they didn't get them, dropped them on the floor, didn't know what they were (they weren't in English - they didn't have to be - but were in the order that they checklist says to put them in) or who knows!

I also called them yesterday afternoon and a nice man confirmed that they got my 2nd set of papers and that it would be 30-42 days til they could review them. I'm hoping we'll get a notice of an interview at the consulate in 2 weeks or so? Fingers crossed. And based on what I'm seeing on other timelines of people from Israel, it's about 2 months til that interview.

I'm sooooooooo tired of waiting now at this point. Nearly 8 months to the date that I actually MAILED the first set of papers/application.

At the end of the call he told me, "I wish you well!" so I'm gonna hold onto that! They must have a tough time there, too, you know? Talking to all of us people who just want answers and approvals!

Maybe we'll get to New York in time to see the leaves changing in the fall?! I am looking forward to it.

Didn't they just strike a few years ago?

i emailed Montreal consulate on my wife's situation as she will have limited resources to pick her passport from Calgary ( she lives in saskatoon )

just got a reply back from the consulate

" mention this to the Consular Officer at the time of your wife’s interview.

Best regards, "

Does anyone know if I can just email them the document they have requested (long form birth certificate) or does it have to be mailed in?

This past Thursday, after 5 weeks from receipt confirmation the NVC finally sent a letter saying they were contacting the embassy in Lima to schedule an interview. However, they also said I needed to bring my 2015 tax return to the embassy appointment because it wasn't in the package they received. I explained to them that I filed an extension for 2015 and I had included a copy of it in the NVC package. I also explained that the reason I filed an extension this year was because I was hoping my wife would be here by October and she could get a Social Security number to be able to file married on my return. The NVC said just bring a copy of the extension to the interview and it should be fine. I sure hope so.

The other part that concerns me is that the NVC has yet to actually give us an interview date. I have asked them several times how long before they at least provide us with an interview date, irregardless of the actual interview date so that we could start planning things a little. They said all embassies are different and they could not even begin to guess. Does anyone have any idea how long scheduling a date takes, or current Lima wait times?
