I got an email the other day saying NVC didn't get my husband's military records in our package. I know they were in there as I checked the package 100 times before mailing it. AND was waiting on that particular piece of paper before mailing it. I called them right away and was told they will take 42 days to review my file. I can go ahead and mail them the paper once again with their special barcode cover sheet but she didn't guarantee that it would help speed things up . What a pain, eh? :( 42 days just to double check that THEY didn't see a document that I sent in. So stinky.

Stinky is right Blanche, thats terrible! :diablo: Seems like they have the standard line, if the package isn't perfect (even if its their mistake) they reset the clock. I believe something similar happened to Sanil.

Hey,

That's a very valid point, I'm ex military and can find hardly anything on what they require regarding military records. Do they require just a discharge certificate to show what date joined/left or more than that, seems bit of a grey area, just getting my documentation ready to submit....

Anybody know for sure?

Thanks in advance ??

Thanks so much Sanil and Looky. Yes, have it ready and will mail it tomorrow. Grrr. Pain. But my husband sarcastically said to me a few weeks ago to 'tell them to take their time since we need more money before we go' and so here he got what he sarcastically wished for. I'm SURE I put it in the file but whatcha gonna do - accidents happen.

Floridays here in Israel it was a simple piece of paper printed from an office here stating his dates of service, how he was discharged, what was his rank, etc. Surely there must be an easy way for you to get such a document? Just one page.

Congratlations Sanil 2 weeks and probably a little wait (most embassies don't give you the visa right away after the interview) and you're wife will get her Visa!

so I just got a call from NVC and asking me about my case number, initially I thought it’s a spam call ( why would NVC call me ) I acted as if I don't remember the case number but the lady mentioned the entire case number which confirmed it was from the NVC also my phone dialer showed the number from new Hampshire

She asked me the beneficiary's name and date of birth after which she went over the documents that she needs to bring to the interview. She started naming all the documents that she need and lastly asked if I have any questions.

just sharing coz I have not seen people getting calls from the NVC after the interview has been scheduled to go over the docs that the applicant need at the time of the interview ,

Oh wow, yeah, I haven't heard of that happening before, either! Maybe it's a Canada/America thing? I can't imagine someone calling us here in Israel from the NVC lol. Glad you've got your interview and medical all set up. I'll be excited when we finally get that, too. Good luck!

They'd better not call here. Due to the the difference it could be the middle of the night!

The lady called you right, not your wife in Canada. For sure they wouldn't call international. Probably she just finished up your case and was in a good mood and wanted to give you the info.
