Congratulations Majed! NVC will receive your case on average about 2 weeks or so from now. You are able to call them and find out if they received your case. Then on average of 2 weeks later they may assign you a case number for you embassy and also a IIN number used to log into CEAC site and also pay a fee.

In the meantime there is a lot of information you can gather. The steps for the NVC process are in this link, including the type of info you will need when filling out the DS260: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Good day to my Dec Filer friends..So happyto get my case no.this morning thru email...How can I get the IIN though I need to wait forvthe letter from NVC or can I ask them thru email..thanks and so excited

Congratulations Neragail! I don't think NVC send you a snail mail letter. There is one email they send called the Welcome Letter, which I think would be what you got. That email had a PDF attachment with your case number,

For me the Invoice ID number was listed right below that.

But that Invoice ID number (IIN) may not be given at the same time as the case number. They might send you another email with the number. If you want you can call them. One case I know of from the Philippines got their IIN number a week or 2 after the case number.

hey everyone, just wanted to drop by and say that my NOA2 was April 20 and it took exactly one month for NVC to assign a case number and invoice ID. NVC will send you an email the day after the case number is assigned.

The May NVC thread is a little confusing because everyone is at different steps of the process and has started the initial processing during very different times I like stopping by here to see all the people who applied I130 with me and where their processing has gotten so far.

Congratlations AH88, I just started the NVC part myself. Did the DS261 select agent, and got to pay the AOS fee. Still waiting for them to get the IV fee invoiced.

I also got a case number and invoice number yesterday by the phone conversation, and still did not receive any authorize mail from nvc, I don't know what I do?

Mkate congratulations you don't need the NVC email, you already have the numbers to sign into the CEAC site.

Before you do anything on the site read this.

Oh wonderful! I'm so happy for you. Do you know if we have to wait for the AOS fee to show up as paid on the site before we can have an agent go over the DS261?

Hi AH88 not exactly sure what you mean. The agent is whoever the beneficiary chooses to get the emails from NVC. Could be a lawyer or even the petitioner. Like in my case, I chose the agent to be myself as I wanted to get the emails that my wife who is the beneficiary would also get. I am actually filling out the forms for her also, so I put my name where it asks if anybody helped you fill out the form.

This is what I am thinking happens. I filled out the DS261 and once NVC approved it they made the $120 AOS available for me to pay. I paid it and in 3 or so days it became PAID. My IV fee says NOT INVOICED. I believe it can take a week or 2 after that for the IV bill to get invoiced before I can pay it. Then I have to wait for the DS260 to become available.

If the fees or the form don't become available you can ask NVC to review it so they can make it available or they might make you correct something and then make it available..

Maybe you meant have the NVC go over the DS261? I think if they approve it you'll know because the next step will become available to you.

Hope that answers your question?

Yes, that's what I meant, having NVC go over the ds261. From what I hear, your IV doesn't get invoiced until you do that. I guess I'll try calling on Monday to find out anyway

Hey Sammy. I mailed in my I-130 on December 9th, they gave me my NOA1 on December 21st. It's been over 5 months for me, and we still haven't heard anything. I've contacted my congressmen and gotten them involved and they're "looking into it" for me. No word about how that's going yet from them either.

It's extremely frustrating seeing everyone else being approved and getting their case numbers and filling out their forms and paying their fees and moving months ahead of you in the process when you both filed at the same time. I think along with SophJosh, we're the only December filers left here that haven't been approved. How many others have been in this thread? 20? 25? 30? Somewhere around there?

It doesn't help that VJ's "currently processing dates" have said that our case was only 2-5 days away for the past 3 months; I don't trust those at all since it's obviously so horrendously inaccurate. It seems like the California Service Center has basically just shut down completely over the past 3 months, they're approving about half of the petitions per day that they used to, if even that many, based on VJ's statistics. And it really stinks that there is nothing you can do but sit and wait and hope and watch the world go by around you while you're stuck in place. It really sucks, and I wouldn't wish this truly awful feeling of hopelessness on anyone.

It really stinks Sammy, but at least know that there are still a few of us here that are in the same position as you are. Best of luck, and I hope you get approved soon. The fewer of us stuck on this portion of things, the better.

Best wishes,

-Reg
