Oops I skipped the part where you said you came back home to drop the forms off. Yes the files would have had to be sent from Ireland and you had the home in the US. Yeah doesn't sound like you would have met DCF requirements. Oh well hopefully you'll get approved soon.

Hey Looky, as I know, you have to live for at least 6 months to do DCF, am I right? My husband has lived in Turkey for 1,5 years. It's so sad they removed this chance from Turkey :[[

Yes, my wife and I are both living here in Ireland with my in-laws. I thought we'd get approved quickly too, and yet...

Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait some more. If this goes on until the 5 month mark, I'll call up USCIS and even NVC and see if they heard anything about our case.

hope you hear something soon mate!

Hi Fatigo, well each Embassy has its own requirement. Ok you said he has lived in Turkey, but its not about the past, Its about being a resident of Turkey when he filed from Turkey. Filing from US would disqualify that chance.

You said your husband is not there with you so he must be resident in US? I don't think they remove the chances, the question is did he meet the requirements to do it.

Just call today !! still doesn't have a case and IIN yet.. My congresswoman just call me today to check the status on my case. good think that she was calling me.. I didn't except a phone call from them.. Congresswoman going email to NVC!!

Unfortunately I don't think that will do anything cause its not out of NVCs stated range which is up to 45 days after they get your case to get you the case number and IIN. :(

Hi Restrion, but I'm not sure you understand what I was trying to tell you. Your cases may be mixed up you sent your baby girls case separately and it went to a different service center than your case. I mean how does the service center that your girls case went to know to match your case with hers?

There is no reason why your girls case would not get approved except that they don't know the adult case to match it up to.

You need to take steps to find out what state that case is in cause its possible its hung up cause they don't know what to do with it, For you I would suggest your congressman cause I think USCIS is terrible at solving problems that are out of the norm. Just explain it all on the congress man / womans online form.

He is a USC. But we wanted to live for a while in Turkey. So we got him residence permit. I was aware of DcF and we got so excited. Because there were people who did this before 'till 2011 or 2013 I don't remember. I read that they must live in Turkey at least for 6 months to do DCF. We called the consulate and they said they don't offer it anymore unless there's an emergency situation :| so he left in November. He's not here with me Edited by Fatigo

Yes I don't know how it works, many people here like Blanche said the same thing that's its only used as emergency but CSC approved their case in a two months. So it was like DCF even though USCIS processed the NOA2. But the only thing different from DCF was they still had to go through NVC.

So I guess I don't really understand. How many months did it take for your NOA2? Are you doing NVC processing right now?

Ok I checked your timeline. So you were approved in 2 months. So you did get most of the benefit of a DCF, except you have to go through NVC. That still cut at least 2 months off of your processing. Actually there are very few Embassies that offer true DCF.

Hi Looky,

My husband call USCIS and they told him that my case and my daughter is seperate

I was approve sooner because I am his spouse and she is a step child so we should wait for the 5 months period for approval.

The person he talk to told him that her case has already been confirmed as it has no problem so we should wait for 5 months Time frame for approval

Her case is at Nebraska Service center same as was mine and we have the same NOA1 date Dec 29 2015.

So i am waiting for latest may 29 before getting the congressman involve

OK its good to know that they say her case is not a problem and your cases are at the same service center. In addition there is this USCIS Ombudsman agent which I think they focus on USCIS problems if you want to try them also.

Good luck, I hope her NOA2 comes soon, and with NOA1 date same as yours, I would certainly think they should have approved her by now!

Yeah she may be his step child but that's silly she is your daughter and no excuse not to approve her instantly.
