Hey Looky thank you again for your answer :D you're such a helpful person! I already read NVC process over and over again. But the reason why I got surprised is that I heard K-3 visa is not available now. It's not valid. So i didn't expect it. I'm surprised, of course I'd love to get K-3! So that means I will get the K-3 visa?? The letter says they now will forward the case to the consulate and the consulate will contact me and it also says our case number which starts ANK... Ankara is where my consulate is

HI Fatigo, thank you, oh these days I have a little bit extra time so for me it also gives me something to do.

The K-3 is valid but it was the timing which could make it useless. I mean if you get the K-3 approved before the CR1 then its useful otherwise if you get the CR1 before the K-3, you have the visa to go to the US so what good is the K-3?

But in your case since you got a ANK consulate case number I would think thats for interview at Ankara.

But which one got approved the I-130 or I-129f? Thats as far as my knowledge will take me. I don't know enough about the K-3 and which one just got approved?

The K-3 was in Texas. So we haven't heard of them , nothing at all. On 8. Feb our I-130 was approved. So I think they closed K-3 in Texas. Because we haven't heard from them. But yesterday my husband got a letter from NVC saying about K-3. That's why I'm surprised. And I've checked the status on NVC website. It says my case is ready, so they will just give me the appointment. It's pretty surprisingggg i haven't expected this at all. O_O

Some smaller embassies will handle it dierectly. Did you try calling or email Ankarawith your case number and see if they received it yet?

I will call the consulate on Monday. I'm really nervous. I want to make it correctly. Nobody helps me at home, here. Even my husband >_<

Oh your husband is with you in Turkey? Well I'm sorry no one is helping you, I guess maybe not in hurry to get to US? I don't know how Ankara works, maybe they'll send you a packet telling you what forms they need from you or just a link. The consular section of the Embassy is what you want or the operator could hook you up to it. That's if the have a direct line for you to call.

Good luck

Hi everyone. I'm just looking at the list of documents we need to submit to NVC for my husband's visa application and am wondering if we need to send copies of MY passport and my SON's passport? We are both US citizens but I haven't gotten him his US passport yet - working on that but it could take up to 6 weeks to process after we go to the embassy. I don't want to hold up my husband's visa application if I don't have to. I guess I need to read more. It says to include copies of birth cert's and passports of those intending on immigrating with him. We're US citizens, though, so we're not technically immigrating I'm thinking. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Hi Blanche that is a good question. When you sent the I-130 petition did you send in copies of your passport pages? I wouldn't think you would need to send NVC copies of USC passports. I mean you are only trying to get the IR1 for your husband.

Of course make sure you can get you sons US Passport in time for your trip.

It wouldn't hurt to call and ask someone at NVC. I guess Immigrating with him is the key sentence, like you said. But in any case if you don't give them it and they wanted it they would just tell you to give it to them.:D

Hi Ponjor, welcome, it seems like several of us have that same NOA1 date. Most of the ones you've seen on this thread that have been approved in less than 3 months are actually people living abroad and filing from there. Its actually DCF, direct consular filing, basically bypassing USCIS.

The processing times vary a little bit depending on which service center your petition was sent to. California was processing very fast but it looks like it has slowed down from that blazing speed. Nebraska seems to be getting faster and Texas is about 3 weeks behind.

In any case we should all be getting NOA2, 2 or 3+ months from now. Good Luck!

If it helps, I saw someone from Nebraska with an October 29 filing date was approved yesterday. So they will be working on November soon.

My theory is that November and December will be smaller workloads due to Thanksgiving and the holidays (no one had time to put I-130s together and also the offices would have been closed for a few days) so they should process these months quicker, I think.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

That's true, we could make up for the holiday delays from the front end. :) But for my wife and I we've been pretty braced for the long haul so a month this way or that won't make a difference.
