Filed i-130 dcf for my wife on Dec07. Everyones checklist on VJ worked out, and the application process went smoothly. Thanks to all!

Called ext.2224 earlier this week to check the status. The first 2 employees were not helpful, saying it takes months for the application process. +The third time the lady was nice and told me the application has been approved.

Now I'm try to get her MNL case # - I know the #1 tip here on VJ is to keep calling. BUT I'm not sure who to try and contact, i tried 2224, email, and also visa services they couldn't help.

Can anyone tell me what the did to expedite their MNL CASE #.

It will take 7 - 10 days business for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2 - 5 business days for NVC to get your file in there system and get the MNL # from USEM. Call 7:00am eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Listen to the prompts and choose the most appropriate response for your situation.

NVC CONTACT INFORMATION:
Website: www.immigrantvisas.state.govwww.immigrantvisas.state.gov

E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov I highly recommend you email NVC for the MNL #, even if you call and get it, this will give you a correspondence from NVC with the MNL # for future reference. The email request for your MNL # is also a great way to track when your file is forwarded to USEM as NVC will not reply to the email until that time.

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:
You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:
* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).
* Petitioner's name and date of birth.
( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )
* Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.

It took 7-14 days to get our MNL case number. With all the technology I don't know why it takes so long to send cases from the uscis to nvc. As long as you have a valid email address you should receive it by email as soon as one is issued. You can call the nvc to see if one has been issued.

Technology sort of falls off the radar when you are shipping an actual file, which means a truck and driver.

The NVC never responded to an email from me. Give it around 10 days and call them to see if there's a MNL case number yet. They have to wait for the documents to arrive and input them in their system. This information came from the NVC. They will then have your email and will sent you updates, MNL number, and will also send stuff to you by mail. I would start calling them after 10 business days to see if they have a number for you yet. That's what the NVC told me to do. You may have to give them your USCIS receipt number to look up your case. Make sure you have both date of births, you passport number, name of applicant and petitioners. Some ask for the info and some hasn't when I called. Try calling this number for the NVC. Its the contact number they give 603-334-0700. Sometimes its busy and I can get through. Sometimes I have to call 10 times in a row. The longest I had to wait on hold was 20 minutes. Hope this helps. This is just my case and I know all are different. I don't think you can do anything to speed them up. Good luck.
