As the title says. I entered the US on Dec 10. I'm not entirely sure how long it takes for them to send me my physical green card (I was just told to use the visa in my passport until the greencard appears).

Additionally, when I did my IV form online, one of the last questions asks if you want a SSN assigned to you. Does anyone know if this happens automatically if you say yes? If it does, does anyone know if it comes with the greencard or when I should expect it?

Thanks!

If the SSN doesn't arrive within 2-3 weeks follow our SSN guide in the SSN regional forum.

The hard copy green card should show up within 1-3 (but sometimes 6) months after arrival or paying the ELIS fee, whichever was later.

I'm not sure what the SSN regional forum is. Can you explain?

Sorry just SSN forum (no regional) under the working and travelling during immigration forum.

Are you using the mobile or PC version of the site?
