I have recently had my US passport renewed. had two passport photos taken for around $10 at local Walgreens, took about 10 minutes. Just received my new passport earlier in the week, tool about 2 weeks to process.

YMMV

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Your file is likely incorrectly prepared for printing. They're not going to rescale it for you. I typically put two of them (2x2) on 5x7 print and send them to Walgreens to have them printed. Requires some basic knowledge of what pixel per inch means though...

My fiance told me there wasn't any option to print out it like 2x2. There is only 4x6 option so he asked stuff and they said they can't do anything.

He can take it to the US Postal Office, they should be able to do it.

And is it really necessary to attach beneficiary photo or I can bring that to the interview?

The 129f instruction 8b specifically says a passport sized photo of each is to be included in the petition.

Both Walgreens, and CVS have photo Kiosk's that you plug a thumbdrive into, he can then load the photo and print it himself. Why the staff refused to do it I am unsure, but there should be a self-service kiosk in the Photo area.

Thanks for reply! Petitioner will try to make my photo done through this http://photos.walmart.com/walmart/productdetail/prd=passportphoto.

I worry if they are not allow him to receive my photo.

Yeah, but I've read that some people don't even sign up forms, they point out that "beneficiary will sign up everything in the embassy". So I just thought if my photo will arrive eventually to the embassy, there would be no difference for USCIS.

they can take your photo and print it out

but they can not print out an offical passport photo from a copy when the person is not there

you will have to get in done in the home country

Wow, I am dissapointed now, don't want to spend 43$ for sending one little picture.(((

Mine is 1180x1074. Do you think this is going to work http://photos.walmart.com/walmart/productdetail/prd=passportphoto ?

Just use E-Passport-Photo. It's free. You upload your own digital photo, size it, and in return you get a 4x6-sized jpeg file containing four passport-sized photos you can take to CVS/Walgreens ... etc to print for twenty cents.

Try your local Sam's Club also, they do passport pictures and half the price Good Luck!

you guys are missing the point

any of these places will take and print out your picture

but not of a photo when person is not in this country

the beneficary needs to get the passport photo done in their own country

passport photos are offical and can be used to apply for a passport (therefore must be done in person)

this is why it is good to collect these things at time of meeting in person

i took application, G 325 forms, intent to marry and did all when we were together

we did the passport photos (even mine as was cheaper in Ecuador)

and filled out all the biographies and paperwork

this saves a lot of mailing back and forth

Yes of course there will be some unique cases where the applicants didn't do something and it slipped through. I would suggest abiding by the requirements to the letter and not try to buck the system.

This should be fine as long as your original photo meets the state department requirements of the posing, background, etc.

My fiance told me there wasn't any option to print out it like 2x2. There is only 4x6 option so he asked stuff and they said they can't do anything.

Here is how I do passport photos:

1) Take pictures on my camera

2) Copy picture to my computer

3) Create some blank files in microsoft paint or gimp or any image software that have the same aspect ratio of pictures you are printing elsewhere, such as 1200X800 pixels is 6:4, e.g. for a 6X4 photo

4) Paste the passport photo into these blank pictures so that it's taking up the proper ratio of the 6X4 picture so that it comes out at 2X2 when printed

5) Print picture

6) Cut out my 2X2

Normally I'll run the numbers and make a few pictures so that I have slight variations in passport photo size as a ratio of the blank picture so that when I cut out the 2X2 it's precisely what it needs to be.

As far as US passport regulations are concerned you can legally take the pictures at home, and then simply print them anywhere you like. As such, i could be in australia and take a picture of you and then have somebody in the US print that picture out.

Different countries have different laws on passport photos.

Good luck!

I printed my wifes pictures out no questions asked at Walgreens, that is the point of printing out Passport style photos, you are applying to immigrate and as such want the official size for your photos.

My other suggestion, which I saw above, was the Post office, but they might require that the person be there. Anywhere else that has a photo printing site should be able to do it off of a USB, as long as the image is scaled properly.
