Godblessme ask thr IRS TRANSCRIPT, and it will take 7/10 for you to receive the transcript. But keep in mind just the transcript will not help your case, you need more proof.Get affidavits from your family, if they don't speak English ask someone to translate to English(not you) .Write down again your affidavit with FULL DETAILS of the Courtship.Explain why you don't have some documents such as lease agreement, car/health insurance in name of both, and joint bank account without movement doesn't help .

Hi All! I have been following this thread for a while and have a few questions. I filed for I-751 based on extreme cruelty and good faith marriage exception at the California Service Center on April 29, 2016. The processing time for CSC is 6 months. I called USCIS last week and the IO informed me that he could not provide me any information over the phone because of the nature of my case. I was asked to write to Vermont Service Center. I am confused because I filed at CSC. So, I went for an infopass appointment yesterday and was told that my application was still in California. USCIS customer service wouldn't even let me change my address on file - they asked me to have my attorney contact them to change my address. My attorney called the VAWA helpline to get more information two weeks ago. However, I am not sure if my case falls under the VAWA category. Does anyone have any insight?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello Sandra ,

I came into the country with a k1 visa and got married within 90days , i then filed i-765&i-485 Nov-2015 (didn't use lawyers). I filed vawa based on physical&sexual abuse (with all evidences documented&submitted) through lawyers in april 2016 and received prima facie a week after. My i-765 was transferred to vermont and just approved july 2016 , now vawa is still pending but i-485 scheduled for January interview (my partner didn't withdraw it but i currently have a protection order against her) . The medicals i submitted was the one i had from overseas (October 2015) and handed over to immigration officer at the airport .

Questions : what should i expect or look forward to at the interview ? is it something i can attend by myself or go with a lawyer? should i do another medicals and take it with me to interview or not? i'm hoping vawa will also be approved before my interview .. Please kindly give me some heads up and info thanks

Sandra. Thank you so much. I was very upset today. I went to IRS office today and found that my husband faked my signature on the tax return form. He has been intentionally hiding everything from me. I am a student and has no income. So it is impossible for me to get any joint statements. Today, I asked a friend (he knows my husband too) to write an affidavit for me. While I was explaining the details, he unfriended me. The message from him " I don't want to get involved in your marriage. I don't know anything between you and your husband ( actually he does)." hurt me a lot. I don't expect people to help me willingly. but their understanding does matter a lot.

godblessme considering what are you saying USCIS probably will deny your case, you don't have commingling finances and you are having a hard time to get affidavits stating that you had a bonafide marriage. As I said you need more than the IS transcript to prove bonafide marriage and I explained what you have to do to increase your chances to have your VAWA approved.

Oh no, I do not have AP. I also do not know about the i824. Hope she submitted it too.

Do we have to wait for the VAWA approval before sending i824?

Thanks so much for your response, Sandra!

MCbay If you left the U.S with the advance parole you still can return to the U.S to attend the AOS interview, but if you left without advance parole then you can't have an interview in the U.S anymore because your AOS will be considered abandoned .

If you will attend the interview in your home Country then your attorney must submit to USCIS form I-824 in order to request further action on the approved self-petition and you will have the interview in the Philippines. Your attorney probably knows everything that I mentioned above but please make sure that he withdraws the form I-485 asap and take further action once your VAWA is approved ok.

Hi friends,

Quick question, can I go to SSA office to ask for my SS number? I applied for my SSN card for the first time last Dec. 8 and still waiting for the card to be delivered and I applied for a job and they require my SS number by Monday evening (12/19).

The receipt I got from when I applied for my SSN card says they cannot disclose my SS number through phone call. If I bring my EAD and receipt and go to the SSA office, would they provide my SS number right away?

My VAWA timeline:

10/04/16 - VAWA Packet sent (Including I-360, 1-485, I-765, I-131, and waiver request) (I sent I-485 concurrently because I have an approved I-130 since my abusive father petitioned me way back 2014)

10/07/16 - USCIS tracking confirmed my packet was delivered to USCIS

10/20/16 - I received Notices of Action advising they received my packet on 10/07/16 and waived my fees. Notice date was 10/11/16

11/01/16 - I received RFE for I-360 to provide good moral character e.g police clearance. RFE date was 11/24/16

11/02/16 - I received notice for biometrics appointment for I-485. Notice date was 11/28/16. The appointment date is 11/15/16 3PM.

11/11/16 - I received approval notice for I765 w/ AP. Notice date was 11/08/16

11/15/16 - Biometrics done. (I arrived at 2:45PM and finished at 3PM. It was swift.)

11/18/16 - I received my new EAD card w/ AP. They sent it 11/17/16

@thegodfather007 I submitted my I360 in July2015 & had my I485 interviews scheduled for October 2015 since my ex didn't withdraw. So I went for my interview with an attorney & the IO asked if I was still with my husband, to which I said no we were no longer together. She was really nice & offered to hold on to my i485 until a decision was made on the I360. I got approved February 2016 for my I360. No need to take the medical. The IO did say to me they will let me know if I needed to submitted a new medical, which the sent the request for in Oct of this year. You can check my post about my timeline. I posted it last week
