Sadness you don't need a reason to travel, just put you will visit your family. As I mentioned here before the advance parole does not guarantee entry in the U.S, but we have here on Visa Journey many VAWA petitioners that traveled abroad after VAWA approval and reentered without any problem.

Dear Visa Journey,

I got evidence to provide evidence of good faith marriage.

I already sent evidence that I added my wife as co-owner of the condominium I bought before we got married. I provided evidence that I assisted in funding her daughter from a previous relationship college housing fees.

I was a guarantor for the housing fee for her daughter in college from a previous relationship.

We do not have insurance, bank accounts, tax records and no children together.

Our courtship and marriage was relatively short (about 1 year), because her mental and financial abuse started as soon as we got married.

Do others get similar RFE?

I can get an affidavit from a friend who knows about our courtship and marriage.

Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I have a question. I submitted my Vawa case in March 2016. Then a month later, i submitted my I-131 advance parole application. It's been 6 months already, and i still have not received a response regarding my advance parole. Isn't the processing time for advance parole usually 3 months at the most? Should i be worried? Has anyone ever experienced this? I had plans to go visit my family overseas in December and i don't know if i will receive my advance parole by then.

Shiobhan The I-192 is reviewed first and once the inadmissibility problem is solved then Vermont will adjudicate the U visa. The I-912 is reviewed by the "Admissibility Review Office" (ARO), which is part of the CBP. The I-192 takes 6 months to be adjudicated and the U visa takes 12/16 months to be adjudicated,

Thanks Sandra..Have a great wkend

Myllo1 put the visa you entered in the USA, for example "B2 expired", "J1 expire"d etc. In case your VAWA was approved you put "I-360(VAWA) approved.

If your VAwa is not approved and you entered in the U.S without immigration inspection put "EWI".

Hi everyone! I'm new here and this is actually my first time posting here.

I have a VAWA case under child abuse. Let me tell you my story:

In 2014 my father (USC) filed a petition for immediate relative under 21. I was 20 years old but turning 21 at that time. Things got rough and we found out that my father has a new family in Chicago. I tried my best to communicate with him but he does not want to continue the petition anymore. I saved up and went to USA to see him personally. (via tourist visa, luckily I had a tourist visa since 2008) At first he treated me nicely and told me he will continue with the petition but then he hid me at his basemend for weeks and just brought me food whenever its convenient of him. He said I would need to go back to the Philippines for him to continue my petition, from which I found out I can do adjustment of status instead since I already have a priority date and an available visa number (being a child under 21).

I went back to the Philippines broken hearted and two years after, he contacted me again saying that he would continue the petition, at the same time my grandmother gave me a gift tour to USA to my uncles, so I got to Houston, TX and called my dad telling him we can file adjustment of status but then he said he doesn't want to do it again.

After weeks of research I found out I can file self-petition under VAWA to which I did.

Oct. 4, 2016 - I-360, I-485, I-765 packet sent to USCIS VSC
Oct 7, 2016 - USPS confirmed it was delivered

Today - I have not received any confirmation via mail or email that my packet was received.

I am worried about this, what should I do?

My VAWA timeline:

10/04/16 - VAWA Packet sent (Including I-360, 1-485, I-765, I-131, and waiver request) (I sent I-485 concurrently because I have an approved I-130 since my abusive father petitioned me way back 2014)

10/07/16 - USCIS tracking confirmed my packet was delivered to USCIS

10/20/16 - I received Notices of Action advising they received my packet on 10/07/16 and waived my fees. Notice date was 10/11/16

11/01/16 - I received RFE for I-360 to provide good moral character e.g police clearance. RFE date was 11/24/16

11/02/16 - I received notice for biometrics appointment for I-485. Notice date was 11/28/16. The appointment date is 11/15/16 3PM.

11/11/16 - I received approval notice for I765 w/ AP. Notice date was 11/08/16

11/15/16 - Biometrics done. (I arrived at 2:45PM and finished at 3PM. It was swift.)

11/18/16 - I received my new EAD card w/ AP. They sent it 11/17/16

You may call 800 375 5283 but wait two weeks to see if you receive receipts. Good luck!

Hello all - my i-765 was approved (3 wks after my VAWA approval - Amen). Oct 7th the status said "We ordered your new card". Does anyone know how long it takes to come? Also I used a lawyer to file the paperwork -will it go to the lawyer or to my address?

@danettempatrick- I sent out my i-485 on Oct 5th (overnighted it via FEDEX) and it was signed for but no receipt # from USCIS as yet. I'm thinking another week or so. Hang in there! Don't call USCIS they won't give you any information -its a VAWA case.
