Desertstorm to have the work permit approved before Vawa you MUST file I-485,G325A,I-864W,I-765 (use category C9) and I-131(optional)but keep in mind in case of VAWA denial you will be removed from the U.S if you file I-485 OK.

Leyla hope if you do not have a police report you must attend therapy and have a psychological evaluation done (minimum 5 therapy sessions). You can file VAWA with your AOS pending, but keep in mind that the VAWA Law was created for victims to escape from an abusive relationship then you should not reconcile with your husband if you file VAWA.

In order to file VAWA you must submit again all documents that you submitted with your AOS application.

JPSingh Here is one link showing low-cost therapy clinics. Please BEFORE starting therapy you should ask if the psychologist is willing to perform some tests such as BAI and BDI and to draft a detailed psychological evaluation(minimum 7 pages) you have to tell this before starting therapy because I read some ridiculous psychological evaluations with 2/3 pages. The psychologist can evaluate you in 5/6 days but if the professional doesn't mention in details everything he/she heard from you then you wasted your time attending the therapy sessions.

Do not show your affidavit to your psychologist!

Sandranj, he is intending to return back to US on tourist visa.

So I don't think US tax payers should pay for his 'free' treatment here.

Merrytooth,

If all of members will keep thinking like you , this group will not work.

Have a broad mind ..pls and do not take my words offensive.

All other members are helping each other selflessly, that is the meaning of this group.

If you do not like anything, pls ignore rather than spreading negative energy, As we all (VAWA members) faced enough discrimination from US citizen spouses.

For more clarity on my situation , pls do PM.

You are obviously not fleeing from abuse anymore. Just coming back to US to get maximum benefits.
