Hello all - GOD is great! I filed 6 1/2 months ago and I saw the status today that my i360 was approved. I filed with via my lawyer does anyone know what happens next? The status didn't change for my i765.

Thank you Sandra and others who have given me constant hope on this site. This site has given me courage and faith.

Amen, Hallelujah

Praise the Lord

Hi Canadian19,

The long wait is over for you! Congratulations!

I have one question please - what did u use to check the status of your i360 application? Did you receive a specific receipt number for that?

Thanks in advance

Patience is a virtue the § Sec. 274a.12 states about the classes of aliens authorized to accept employment , they are not telling you to file under category 12C

Sec. 274a.12©
© Aliens who must apply for employment authorization. An alien within a class of aliens described in this section must apply for work authorization. If authorized, such an alien may accept employment subject to any restrictions stated in the regulations or cited on the employment authorization document. USCIS, in its discretion, may establish a specific validity period for an employment authorization document...".
You dont get public benefits with deferred action but with prima facie, but they will not renew your prima facie anymore. Deferred action is for you not to be deported

I was able to upload a screenshot hopefully you are able to view. I am not FULLY clear on what they want me to submit OR if I am to re-submit the i-765 under the class they mentioned. When I submitted i360 + i765 I used class 31.

Patienceisavirtue It seems that you did not file your EAD using category C 9, but using category C 31 or C 14, that being said you can file now form I-765 using category ( c ) ( 9 ) ( ) or to wait for the EAD approval following the category that you chose when filing I-765.

I had two cases that the VAWA filers decided to file form I-824 and it took almost one year from the I-360 approval until the interview date.

After your divorce is final you can ask to change your name.

@Sandra - so you suggest waiting for the current EAD that I filed under C31 to be approved? Its been now 6 months and no approval thus far. Why are they taking so long - are they waiting for my i485 to be filed?

Morning everyone,

It is always good to read your posts. It helps me keep faith. I am going though a lot these pas few days and I come here when I need the strength to hold on and keep faith. I filed 7 months ago and I haven't heard anything. it is really depressing. I would like to go back to school with the hope that it will help me get my mind off a little. Can I go to school with a work permit?

sabinevalerie if you received the prima facie then you can apply for FAFSA and go back to school.

patienceisavirtue your work permit is not taking a long time, your attorney filed category C31 and it means you could just receive the EAD after your VAWA approval.I have no idea why your attorney never explained you about it , now that your VAWA is approved Uscis will take 30/90 days to issue your EAD.

The letter you sent me is saying that in order for you to extend your deferred action you have to options:

a) Request in writing to extend the deferred action or

b) File form I765 pursuant to 8- CFR sec274 a.12©

You filed already using category C31 then now wait for them to issue your EAD.

I was on here 3 years ago struggling with a nasty abusive marriage. My vawa was approved and I've been a resident for 3 years now. I went back to school and got my degree as a registered nurse.

Sandra probably doesn't remember this but she's been a huge part of my success. I used to call her crying because I was having such a hard time. She helped me all along both emotionally and legally. I checked back today for the first time in 3 years and I see that she is still helping others with their cases. How generous!? Dedicating your time like this to so many people in need! Thank you so much Sandra for all you've done for me. Without your help, I probably wouldn't be able to go back to school and stay in this wonderful country full of opportunity. You have made a difference in my life. Now I'm on my way to becoming a US citizen. I will start school again here in November to pursue a degree as a nurse practitioner.

Don't get discouraged people! I went through hell with my ex. The DV was so extreme that I never thought I would make it out alive. I never thought I would go back to school let alone be a nurse. My ex often said often how dumb I was and how I would never be anything. This negative image was glued in my head. As a result, I stopped going to school for 5 years.

I know they are a lot of you on here who are suffering and don't see the light at the end of the tunnel but I say to you guys that this situation is only temporary. Being a DV victim doesn't define you on what you'll be able to accomplish in life. Matter of fact, it helps you be stronger and makes you feel like you can do anything. I lived in a shelter for 3 months to protect my unborn baby. I didn't have anything under my name. I didn't have a job and my family was abroad and they couldn't help financially. I was unsure about the future of my baby. But with the help of people who see potential in me and a lot of prayers, I was able to battle through it all. I will always remember Sandra as God sent angel.

Good luck to everyone on here. Keep up the faith. Don't loose sight on your goals and your dreams. All will be well! God bless you Sandra✌❤

God is great my journey is finally over. I received my permanent resident card in the mail on the 26th. My journey was long and difficult but its over and I am very humbled and grateful. The reality is surreal but I know its true, I have cried and still trying to shake the tension, anxiety, stress and fear. I still have to work on trust but I will heal from this difficult time.

So please dont dispair, be patient and pray for what you want everyday, I also make sure that I express gratitude for the smallest things we take for granted.

God bless Sandra, cant say thank you enough

good faith marriage, mails you got at their home, try asking his mom for

a lease, get letters stating you both have a bonafide marriage & abuses

they have seen. Secure you & child documents & go to a shelter. Your

local lagal aid clinic will give you info
