I filled just once,at the beginning of the case. But I do not have a receipt of this form. My attorney passed away right after filling this, and I dont know did he have it, or not. My new attorney says that there is just one receipt number, for all cases. And I am confused. Because I dont know is it pending or no. And to check it I have to make a request to Vermont service.

If you filed form I-485 you got7 a received a receipt number.

Why did you file a new I-485 if your I-485 was pending when you submitted all forms?

Yes I did, i have a scan copy of everything I ever sent to my attorney. But I didnt get receipts, just I 360. So when I 360 was approved I asked my current attorney about other forms, she said that the receipt number of I 360 works for the whole case. But how I can check the status of my work authorization or GC? I am totally confused. Calling to USCIS doesnt help. So can anybody tell me - are there 3 different receipt numbers for each form ? or one for whole VAWA process ?if yes, how I can check my work permit status?

Adella2015 Did you not make picoes of everything you submitted?

There should be a separate receipt number for the I-765 and the I-485, theres a possibility your previous lawyer was waiting for your i-360 to get approved before submitting the others. Your new lawyer should be able to find out if the others applications were submitted

" you get one receipt per applicant not application. Since your VAWA, along with your adjustment (I485) and work permit (I-765) were all submitted at once, you only get one receipt per that process." this is my attorney said. So I how I can find out did my previous attorney send it or no? I remember that he was saying that sending all together at the same time. But how I can check it? He passed away 8 months ago.

Thats incorrect. I got a different receipt number for each application I-360. I-485 and I-765. You get one Alien number which will be referenced on each application, that is like your ID. Each application is processed at a different time there each one as its own receipt number.

@sandranj or anyone who's reading this and can help

Hello all- I am really struggling to keep faith. My husband abandoned me I have been staying at family members over the past 6 months waiting for the work permit to be approved.

I have a lawyer who ignores me. I applied since March 24 2016 for my I130 and i765. RFE for i30 was received on Aug 3rd 2016. I checked again today online and it reads this:

Name Was Updated

On September 21, 2016, we updated your name for your Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant , Receipt Number Xxxxxx

What are the next steps?

I didn't apply for a name change but my husband did file for divorce - does immigration know this and that's why they issued a name change?

How much longer until they approve my i130 or i765?

Can my lawyer speed up the process? He refuses to reply to emails and answer calls- what do I do?

Hi Sandra,

My card was lost in mail.

Before i received the interview letter, i already had info pass to update my new address.

I received interview letter at new address.

I confirmed my new address when i was in interview.

after i was approved 2 weeks, I called 1800 number to ask about my case, i gave them my correct address. On that day, they updated my case status to "card production".

I received my tracking number on last Saturday said the card was delivered to my old address 2 days before that (Thursday).

I had to drive 6 hrs back to the old address since i can't get in touch with the new resident of the apartment. She tossed it away. Then I had no choice but search the whole full- of -trash dumpster to find the card but i couldn't find.

My lawyer charges me $800 to file a replacement card.

Please advise me if i have any other choice than filing for a replacement card.

Thank you

Hello all - GOD is great! I filed 6 1/2 months ago and I saw the status today that my i360 was approved. I filed with via my lawyer does anyone know what happens next? The status didn't change for my i765.

Thank you Sandra and others who have given me constant hope on this site. This site has given me courage and faith.

Amen, Hallelujah

Praise the Lord

Hello all - today I checked my status and it was approved. Whats next? I already had an RFE for both i765 (received by USCIS in April) and for i360 (received Aug 3rd). Will i still get a prima facie? Can I apply for i485 now? If so do I need to go through my lawyer and pay USCIS fees?

I did biometrics just under a year ago while i was married and that case was denied as well as my i485 because due in inadequate response of RFE (husband refused to provide IRS docs).

Patienceisavirtue you can file for AOS using your attorney or not.it's up to you. I am assuming that your husband is a US citizen otherwise you have to wait a visa number to become available to file l485.

If you can't afford to pay USCIS fees fill out form l912.

Mimominkov if your husband is contacting you after having a valid restraining order against him then go to the court to solve this problem.

Change your phone number or block him and block his emails too.

Uscis won't give a damn about his letter. It's in their garbage can already. I am serious.

This isnwhat I did. Hopefully all this will be over soon in a good way.

I did it, I have to wait about 2 weeks to get to local USCIS.

I had filled I 485 with my husband one year ago. But after our interview was canceled etc. So, can I link somehow my previous I 485 to VAWA? Since I already paid for that? I am going to call to Vermont on Monday, but I wanted to ask is it possible or not?

Adela2016 set up an appointment with infopass and see if they can give you any information regarding your case.
