Folks please make sure that the psychologicaúl evaluation is drafted by a PSYCHOLOGIST, counselors don't know how to draft an evaluation, but some psychologists are a disaster too.

Before starting the first therapy session ask the professional if she/he can provide a psychological evaluation (minimum 5/7 pages) because I saw a few cases that some psychologists refused to provide the evaluation.

You must attend at least 5/7 therapy sessions. Please do not contact me if you suffered mental abuse and you don't have a psychological evaluation yet.

DO NOT SHOW YOUR AFFIDAVIT TO THE PSYCHOLOGIST. There are a bunch of psychologists copying the victims own affidavit and putting in the evaluation the victims words.

Last week one psychologist drafted 2 pages and asked Uscis to read the victim's affifavit attached to the 2 pages evaluation...unbelievable .

I will not provide to the psychologist a sample, period.

I will not answer your psychologist emails or phone calls.

Hey my name is Mimo and I read a loot off the post and I'm thankful for Sandranj and for all her help and advices and thanks to you most off us can sleep a litter but easier. My question is I filed for my VAWA petition on October 3 2015 and on my status said name was updated. Do I have to worry? And I live in Maryland. The reason that I had to file for VAWA is my abusive spouse started to be violent aggressive and just before the interview fired the lawyer that we had hired just so he can harm me. He already has a assault charge when he beat the out off me and how he has a violation off the restraining order his parents are helping me and supporting me in times like that they even co Singh for the financial part and are helping me beyond imagination. His mom also supported me with a letter for the VAWA petition and all that but I'm scared because it has been a year and I don't have any updates? Any advise or what should I do the lawyer said that when she contacted the USCIS they said it is still under review.

Mimominkov last Tuesday I received information in one of my VAWA cases that" the name was updated", and two days later USCIS approved the AOS. The person filed VAWA in 2011 and had the AOS interview almost 17 months ago and the GC was approved last Thursday.

But VAWA usually takes 4/5months to be adjudicated, your case is taking a long time, set up an appointment with infopass to find out about your case. Their website is not reliable and USCIS failed many times to mail the person about the VAWA decision and even regarding the AOS interview.

The psychologist is not obligated to perform any test or to draft a psychological evaluation .I posted here several times that the person before starting the therapy sessions should ask the psychologist if he/she can provide a psychological evaluation(minimum 5/7 pages).

The affiant must state present address, date, and place of birth. The affidavit must be notarized in the U.S. Family and friends living abroad can give a psychological evaluation as well, with respective translation.

The person should mention the relationship with you, when he/she met your husband, describe your courtship, proposal, and wedding. The person should mention the abuse in details, if the person knows about it, and about bonafide marriage too.

Hi VJ members, this is my first time posting here (been a silent reader for 2 yrs), I promised myself to share my journey to inspire other victims of DV that there's hope & God will be there for all of us no matter what. Today is one of the happiest days of my life, I just received an email that my card for my i485 application is for production! The first thing I did after I read the email, I sat down and cried, then I sent Sandra a PM, our angel and the wonderful Sandra, she's been a great help with my applcation, she guided me throughout this journey! Thank you soo much Sandra for your help!!

Please to all the women/men out there that are experiencing abuse from their spouses, don't wait until something really bad happened to you, when Sandra told me to cut my ties with him, seek help & start your VAWA application. That's what I did, it wasn't easy bec of all the documents that needed to submit some requires money, that some of us victims do not have. I prayed and God always answered my prayers. Talk to people, seek help bec if you're sincere they will help you, trust me. I read the whole VAWA 7 thread, as well as the previous forums prior to this, to all of you who posted your experiences, timelines and your journeys, without you knowing You guys also helped me in guiding me with this whole process aside from Sandra's help of course. By the way I just did it without a lawyer. Below is my timeline. Again thank you all and God bless VJ website, the moderator, Sandra and every member of VJ.
