Hello guys! I am more a reader than a poster but I must share with everyone my story.

On October 2015, I filed I-360, 765 and 485 with Sandra's help. She helped me with my personal declaration and of course, visajourney thread. I read all the way through from the beginning and kept notes and timelines. On my petition, I didnt have a psychological evaluation, nor police reports, nor hospital addmitance. All I had was conversations between my ex and I, police calls that I say that he chocked me, and affidavits (but they didnt see anything, just can testify about my good faith)

On November 2015, I was called for fingerprints.

Until May 2016, I didn't have any updates at all on any of the forms. It was on my screen fees were waived and that's it. For 7 months Ive never had even a request for evidence. I was worried bc I saw ppl with similar timelines here on visajourney and they already got a request for evidence. So in March 2016, I sent them asking for an expedite work authorization and mentioning that it has been a while that I filed 360 and didnt even have a RFE.

Anyway, today was so happy that I cried so hard. Cant believe it is over and my petition was finally approved!!!

I just have now one question.... if anyone can answer me. I filed 765 and there is no update and my 360 was approved. I am very anxious to start working... Do I need to wait for my green card or am I going to receive a work authorization?

Thank you visajourney for all the post and for sharing the timelines.

But also, last but not least important at all, thank you Sandra!!!! I sent you an email thanking you, but I must say that your help advising is tremendous important! I couldnt have done without you! It is thousands of ppl that need your support and advice. Saying thank you isnt enough! My heart is flowing with gratitude!!!

Since your I-360 is approved, in the near future(3-6 months) you should receive an I-485 interview notice. After you attend your i-485 interview and it gets approved, you will then receive your Green card. In the mean time, if you want to work, you will need an EAD. People normally receive their EAD within 90 days after filing. Since you filed your I-765 7 months ago, you should book an infopass appointment to find out what's going on with the processing of your I-765 application.

@AnastasiaE..hey! Well am getting confused by the minute at my atty competence.. Guess what, he never submitted copies of my Birth certificate, passport,I-94, form1145with my AOS/EAD/AP applicatons..it has just been a roller coaster with him even obtaining copies of my doc with so many mistakes made..I just don't know what to do... He tells me he submitted my docs to USCIS the week of 4/18 but he cannot specify the exact date and he cannot even provide proof to me that the docs were actually mailed and received at VSC?..I am not even sure if he did because by now I should have receipt/case#s for all the docs right??

I am so confused..just taking a day at a time staying positive...What do you think?

@Freeish15 how do u know he didn't submit I94 etc etc?

I thought from the beginning that u should do it urself. I'm getting my package ready and it's not as hard as everyone was telling me 3 years ago when I was still w/ my ex.

But now..hmm I would schedule infopass to see if they got ur application.

@AnastasiaE..He emailed me copy of the cover letter and the docs he submitted that is how I know but could not provide me with the proof that the docs had been mailed and received at VSC. He really convinced me that he will submit my docs ASAP and refused to refund me my money. I am so disappointed in myself for trusting that he will do the right thing I am still learning the hard way not to trust even attys..so sad.

So happy for you being bold to do it yourself. This is my first rodeo and I did not want to make any mistakes but as I am now seeing I could have done a better job on my own with support and advice from y'all here and with less anxiety and depression.

As for the info pass how does one even start with no postage/receipt or case #s proof? Can you please walk me through the process?

You have been so so awesome??? Thank you so much for being by my side through this AOS journey...I wish you all the best in yourAOS journey...we are in this together???

@Freeish15

Is there any way to fire him & refund the $? I would do research on that or wait for the other VJ members to answer. What state are you in? I can google it tonight when I get off work.

I didn't have any other option, but to do it myself. And doing the divorce pro bono right now as well. He stole the dog & there's no way in the world he'll get away w/ this!

Regarding the infopass... I'm sorry, but I can't help you there:( haven't done it myself and know nothing about the process. There should be some info in the thread, but I understand that reading the whole thing will be time consuming. Once again I see 2 options for u. Either Google or help from other VJ members. I'm sure someone will guide u through the process. Keeping you in my thoughts! As well as all the others who are going through these hard times! It's all gonna get better sooner than u know it guys!

@AnastasiaE...Thanks for all the support believe me I have been keeping busy all last week and this reading the Bar Association regulations and reading through all VJ forums am sure I will get some answers somewhere. Really, don't stress yourself on me but I sure appreciate your continual support and great encouragement.God Bless U???

If I don't get any notice by the 15th then I will sure know nothing was submitted then I will seek further advice from the TX Bar Association. As for now am keeping busy reading and researching also on USCIS webs for anything on how to move on. Am counting the money spent on an atty as a total loss and a lesson well learnt!

I will keep you posted. All the best on the divorce journey...had mine taken care of before I filled my VAWA at least am done with that part?

I gotta move on with joy...I have been through worse and God is in full control???

@Freeish15

It's really no biggie. I'll still look it up tonight or tomorrow:) I'll send u a PM if I find anything.

Good for u! And thank you, I hope I will get her back. Im gonna pay my counselor to write a paper saying that she's my support animal and I need her. She was staying with my mother-in-law while I was in the process of moving back from GA to DC and he had the key to her house, drove to GA in the middle of the night and took her. My kitty is staying w/ his brother and she's def safe there. I'm going for alimony and the debt written of my name as well(he put me in $8000 worth of debt!). We'll see what's gonna happen...

@AnastasiaE

Thank you so much for making my day brighter! I never thought I would be feeling this relieved and more positive after doing to bed really disappointed/frustrated last night. You are in my thoughts as well...you will win???

To everyone going through tough times feel encouraged knowing this forum has your back...we are in this together?

It is indeed good to vent out/ share what we are going through because you never know who will make your day or how much encouragement you can get for just sharing.(I have been keeping/bottling in so much with my negative atty experience knowing there are so many of us going through worse and not wanting to be a bother) but as I Have learnt today sharing our experiences no matter how big or small helps alleviate the stress/anxiety/depression/disappointments etc.. than going through the heartache of this journey alone.

So thank you everyone. God will sure see us through every obstacle we are facing.praying for you all???

Guys, Sandra, anybody, please I need some advice. As some of you know already from my previous post, that I moved out this past weekend. The move went smoothly while my husband was at work. He now knows that I have moved out and he went and cleared out all of the bank accounts and has left the accounts at zero $. He also said that he was able to request a copy of the interview notice for our GC/AOS interview for this May 26th. I am scared because I think he will show up to the interview and try to sabotage the interview, I'm not sure what he will do, I'm not sure if he will even call to cancel, but he is very mad and angry, at this point I'm not sure what will happen on the 26th of May. I do plan to show up by myself to the interview and ask the immigration officer if he can put the interview on hold for when my vawa application gets approved. I haven't sent my vawa application yet, I am just waiting for my psychological evaluation and then I'll be sending it. I will be sending it either this week or next. I know I have time on top of me and I feel like I have this heavy load on my chest and even though I moved out I still feel scared, intimidated, and nervous. I just don't know what will happen and/or what he will do for that interview. Please help me, I need advice. I hate this part of my life for now, because it's uncertain and I feel alone, I know I have you guys, but I also have time that's playing against me right now and I need to send this application asap. Any advice will help. Thank you.

@Lina.... Are you still communicating with him? For your own safety you really need to STOP!!!

If you moved into a shelter am sure they are more experienced and someone will help you. If not,let your psychologist know or get advice from an immigration officer through infopass regarding the appointment and your fears. Praying for you? But you really need to stop communicating with him. Safety is your priority! That's my take...

@Freeish15

Awwww I'm glad I did boo! Thanks for all the kind words as well! I just now got home & I'm exhausted, so I'll do the research tmrw:) cross my heart and hope to die, stick the needle in my eye lol

@Lina3

I'm sure Sandra or someone else will give you legal advice, but I agree 100% w/ Freeish15(sorry, don't know ur name luv). Do not communicate w/ him. He's gonna try to threaten you and you don't need any more stress. The best advice I was given was to cut my ex out of my life like cancer. I would recommend doing the same. And don't stress too much, it's gonna be ok. The worst part is over, you're out of the house and hopefully he doesn't know where you're and you're safe! Glad to hear that the move went well. Keep us updated on what's going on!
