I360 RFE 12-12-2015 Case suspended

I responded with RFE 02-07-2015

I360 Approved 03-23-2015

I485 Approved on 08-01-2015

Permanent Resident Card mailed 8-22-2015

Card mailed to old address despite changing address several times on USCIS website, at the local field office.

USCIS status said that Post Office returned a notice saying that they could not deliver it and it could have a serious impact on my case.

Had to apply for replacement Green Card October 2015

Had to re-do biometric in November 2015

Finally got the ten year plastic in my hand on March 18th, 2016

USCIS is a complete nightmare I got the Senator involved, I got the Congressman and USCIS would not budge they will go at their own pace. They waited approximately 5 months to issue a second green card. I had sleepless nights and restless days. Hang in there to all of you keep the faith. Don't worry about the interview they will ask you just what is on the form like if you are involved in prostitution etc.

Oh she did ask me why didn't I let my mother file for me I told her because I am married to USC, she told me you may as well go back to England because you can't practice law here. I said to her boldly I have just gotten approved for to sit for the NYC State Bar. She kept quietly. I had to be at work that morning 7:00 my interview was 7:05 never got called until 7:35, I didn't even care I was that confident that they could not turn me down.

Don't stress it only made me older and sicker. Also if you have not got your EAD that is the only part they will expedited. The rest you have to just sit and wait agonising months. They claim that they are short staff, like I care. Your life has been turned upside down by the husband and them being short staff is not helping you to move on quickly.

I think that I got taken by a lawyer.. i'm 40 yo, and got a false claim of citizenship in 1999 at the san isidro border, but then , i managed tocross successfully a month later and I've been here ever since;

I have 2 us citizens childen 16 y 12 YO and also married a Us citizen, my attorney just applied for me for VAWA and he told me that even if I have the false claim i all I got to say that I retracted myself in time (in fact i did) ,, but I've been reading that there is no waiver for false claim under VAWA? but the attorney told that there is.

My attorney is now saying that even if we get denied in immigration I could renew VAWA every year and hope for the laws to change. is this true? please advise.

Vgonzales the information you received is wrong, because It's permanently inadmissible under the Immigration & Nationality Act (INA) since September of 1996, non-citizens who made false claims to U.S. citizenship, and there is no waiver available. Just those that a false claim to citizenship made before September 30, 1996 won't have problem because of their claim.

After Vawa approval, you will attend the AOS interview, but they will deny your AOS and they will send you a notice to appear in Court to set up your removal.

After doing some reading here, I suspected this, I should've of read before but I trusted the lawyer.And the VAWA papers was just send.... Hello all I expressed mailed my i360 and i765 via USPS and got confirmation someone at Vermont USCIS signed for it (March 23 2016)- when will i get a notice of receipt? what are the next steps - and when can I file for the i-485. All I need is my EAD now so I can work.

Sandra, despite the mental abuse i have been going through, I never though my husband would get physical with me. Last night, as i was packing my things and planning to leave me, he grabbed and scratched my arms to stop me from packing and told me it's not my decision to leave. I called a 24/7 hotline and now i'm staying at a women's shelter until i figure out what to do next. People at the shelter asked my information and took pictures of the bruises on my arms. The bruises look very bad. I'm wondering, if i want to ask the shelter to provide a declaration what are some good points to include that can make my vawa case stronger. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your advice! Just got a call from my in laws saying they got my EAD! No biometrics, no nothing! I tried expediting it, since I'm diabetic and need medicine, but got a letter back saying it cannot be done over the phone, just mail. I figured since the processing time was 3 months I might just wait till mid may(3 month mark). But it was approved earlier! I'm beyond happy and excited and wanna thank everyone, esp Sandra again. I tried to do that but my atty refused to give me back my file and refund! Last week he had me sign the forms so am hoping he will submit them soon. I did however write a letter to expedite the I-765 and gave it to him to submit with the package since he is very reluctant to even help me speed the process for the EAD... I just pray he submits it soon. Thanks again for the encouragement...all this will come to an end eventually?

@Freeish15 what a jerk! I swear some lawyers are just....ugh. I'm in the middle of the divorce now & he's got an attorney, I'm pro se. Well, all they're trying to do is bully me. English may not be my 1st language, but I'm not dumb.

Anyway, I'm gonna be praying that everything works out for you! Keep us updated!!

V Gonzales their case was approved because they recanted their statement when immigration officers were questioning them. Ask your attorney how this case applies to your case? As far I know you didn't retracted your claim right after entering in the USA.
