Hello VWhope2016,

It is better you take coolbeans advice concerning the statewide clearance since you are in Dallas. I was only given Houston (Harris County) police clearance when I went to the police here in Houston. It took me more than 6 weeks before I receive the state clearance in the mail through the online link I posted.

I live in Houston and USCIS accepted my clearance letter from the Houston Police Dept. I got it from that office somewhere downtown - 201 Caroline (I think!). Although I included my FBI fingerprint taken in that office as well.

Is this required or just an add-on?

Hello Rebirth,

I did not submit statewide clearance or FBI fingerprint initially. I only submitted Harris County police clearance. I received RFE for good moral character and the USCIS letter advised me that USCIS needs a state police clearance from me in places I lived in the last 36 months. I originally filed in December 2015. USCIS accepted my Texas statewide police clearance in the last week of February. Have you received a prima facie? I have not received.

Since you're in Texas,...Any suggestions for good attorney and place to have psychological report...

Also, it would be great if you can please post the checklist of documents/forms for submission.

Thank You !

Hello VWhope2016,

I did not use a lawyer when I filed. You may google VAWA lawyers and VAWA psychologists in Dallas or send private messages to people who filed VAWA from Dallas on this forum. You may read previous VAWA and see who filed from Dallas. The current VAWA is VAWA part 7. The following checklists are necessary:

1. Proof of being married

2. that spouse was a USC or Green Card Holder

3. that you resided together

4. that you suffered battery or cruelty

5. good moral character

6. bona fide marriage

The I-360 instructions link below provides suggestions on what you can send. Each application will depend on the individual.

Hi everyone, I have been following this thread. I am in the process of going for self petition through VAWA but I also have another question.

I arrived here in the USA August 2014 and got married in the same month. My AOS was not taken care of. So I have been overstaying here. My divorce was just approved this month. My question is, if I will just go back to my home country will I still have that 10 year bar to re enter the USA?

Make an infopass appointment, ask the immigration officer if/when USCIS received your rfe response and then ask the officer what is going on.

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing the best they can & staying safe.

I have some concern & maybe my anxiety is getting the better of me & I believe my attorney is just being too relax.

So I filed my I360 in July 2015 & my case was approved on Feb.1.2016.... I got scheduled for I-485 interview in Oct.2015 (this I485 was submitted when my ex husband submitted his petition for me in Dec 2014). The Immigtation Officer was amazing I must say & before my attorney got a chance to asked her to hold in abeyance she offered to interview for my pending I360. This was done on Oct.20.15.

My concern are: 1) I didn't get an approval letter for the I-360, just the confirmation on USCIS site.... Is this normal? 2) shouldn't my lawyer trying to make contact about my I-485 now that my I-360 is approved?

I'm actually still in therapy, because my anxiety level is still not back to normal after my ordeal but I'm so grateful for NY state laws on domestic violence & the DA office which was very protective & resourceful.

God is good all the time & He gives his strongest servants the biggest battle & I'm starting to see that. My trials will be my testimony.

I await some feedback & if Sandra could shed some light I would appreciate it a lot.
