I need some clarification here!

I am on K1 Visa. We have received an email from Abu Dhabi Embassy on Dec. 13th. Says, ( Good day, The Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi has received your fiancée visa file etc... )

There are 3 attachments in MS Word for Panel Physician, Required Documents and Security Information. The email also provides us the link where we need to apply for the appointment and this makes me confused because I thought they will give us the schedule for the interview??

Please share your knowledge if you have about this matter.

the good thing about K1s is that they get to pick their own interviews. follow the link and pick the day that best fit your schedule. remember give time for your medical to get to the embassy so you don't have to be placed in AP because your medical didn't get there in time. so don't set your interview like this week and take your medical this week.

another thing is your definitely in the wrong forum. this has nothing to do with current news and hot topics. this should of been in the K1 section. hopefully someone can move it but I gave you your answer anyways.

They no longer schedule the interview you follow the link provided in the email and set up a profile and once you have completed the DS160 and paid the fee it will allow you to select your interview date.

Oh Really? Thank You....

i assumed we have the same case... Just a follow up question, from the day you've received the same letter, how soon did you get a slots for the interview?

I had other delays that prevented me from being able to schedule right away but after the fee was laid I was able to schedule the interview for a little over 2 weeks from that day.

i see

Speaking about Fee, does it require to pay online? Or i can pay it all on the interview date? Btw, i have the completed DS160 and already got the confirmation printed before this email came. As it was advised by NVC when they issued the Case #

Yes it wont allow you to schedule the interview date without the fee showing as paid.

ohh okay.... Good i asked.

I have created a profile on the link provided by the embassy. However, i am stuck on Visa Class* Enter the Visa Class selected in the DS-160 Form

I am unable to find the right Visa Class (K1-Fiancee) as it is not mention. Do you have an idea whats goin on here? (This is under Non-immigrant Visa section )

Thank You.

You need to be in the immigrant visa section...its a nonimmigrant visa but its handled at the embassy with the immigrant visas

  • 2 months later...

hello

we got a letter (k-1) from the embassy on Dec.9,2015 and we were confused also about many things(their info. is very contradictory in relation to their websites), but after reading their abudhabiivo.net website we were of the understanding that we wait for the embassy to schedule the interview. we have been waiting but received nothing as of yet. It says it can be 2-3 months? But after reading this post I'm more confused then ever! My fiancée was in the ais.usvisa-info.com site and tried to register on the immigrant site but ran into problems when asked about the visa class? So is it true that we schedule our own interview? This is getting absurd! Now that we waited for so long for a reply, I wonder if they'll even let us have an interview? Can someone give us some real true info.? Help! Thanks

When my fiance had his interview in December in Abu Dhabi for his K1 we scheduled it ourselves through the ais.usvisa-info.com site. You must register and make sure you have all of the information updated before it will allow you to schedule. You will need to have paid the fee and completed your DS-160.
