Friend on tourist visa

Hey everyone

I have a friend who's from venezuela and his brother came to the US on a tourist visa. He was in the US for about 2 months and just traveled to Spain to visit family, but he's planning on coming back to the US to spend New Years here and then go back to Venezuela late January. My question is, when he comes back from Spain and he tries to enter the US again on his tourist visa, will he have a hard time entering the US since he hasn't been back to his home country (Venezuela)?

If his story makes sense to the CBP officer, he likely won't have any problems.
