Hello Everyone,

What comes in the packet from Montreal?, I recieved the letter from the NVC saying that my wifes file had been sent to Montreal, since shes in Canada I assume it wont take long for her to recieve the info hopefully.

About the police certificates, is it true that she only needs a name based check from Canada? Thats what she was told from the fingerprinting agencie and from someone at the USCIS 1900 number. And since she has spent time in Texas she also needs a Texas police check or does she need an FBI check?

Thanks in Advance

J

The embassy told my husband that he just needed a certificate from OPP. You do not need any certificates from the U.S. .

Since my husband received the packet 3 I don't know exactly what was in it except there was a checklist that had to be returned to the embassy, the I-134 form (which you should already have ready anyway and can get off the uscis site) and instructions for the medical. Good luck.

She has to go to the RCMP. They will run her name for the whole of Canada. Do not go through the provincial police.

:guides: There should be examples of forms there that she will probably get.

Your faincee will need to go to her local RCMP detachment to get a name based police certificate. However, if your fiancee lives in the GTA, she has to go to her local Commissionaires office.

To see what is in the packet, check the montreal website from the Embassy Info on the top bar. She needs to use the forms that Montreal gives her. DO NOT use the online fillable forms. Montreal modifies their forms to fit K applicants better. However, she can use the online forms to practice.

Depends on the detachment. We had to show our cover letter from Packet 3 to be able to get ours.
