Hey buddies,

I filed the I-485 a few months ago and the status on USCIS says:

As of August 31, 2015, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Now it has been almost 4 months with no word from them. Should I call and ask about the status? Will they be able to give me any useful information?

Thank you

It depends how busy your Service Center is. I had the same notice since June 22 but I only had my interview notice last November 22. Luckily I found a post here in VJ for AOS Seattle Based and just kept on reading the updates. Until I got frustrated too and stop reading and stop expecting anything. It looks like there's a lot of applicants and the processing is really slow at the moment.

Alright guys, it has been 6 months since the status changed to waiting for interview to be scheduled. I tried to call but it seems I got lost in an endless automated voice system.

What number should I call to talk to someone about this, about the delay and if anything is wrong?

Thanks very much guys.

Mine was last September. The same status :( does calling them helps?

Mine was October but haven't got any notice for interview yet

Well I didn't get my notice until 6 months after my last contact from USCIS (August 31) and you guys are both after me, so I think you have nothing to worry about. I don't think calling will help. But I was close to the point where I was going to call. My letter came in the mail just a few days after I said I want to call them.

Hello there,

We sent in the i485 stuff in July (I don't remember the exact date) and our interview date is March 29th, so it took awhile. It was 6 months from it saying "You are ready to be scheduled for an interview" until we actually were scheduled... but I have heard of others only being in this stage for 2-3 months, so I guess there is no way to predict it very well!
