Visa K-1 and co-sponsoring

Hi everyone,

I am new on this website and it is my very first post!

Probably as many of you, vj has been very helpful to gather all the documents for us to send our I-129F package and although I have been researching thoroughly the internet I believe it is the best place to find more answers.

First of all, a quick presentation of myself. My name is Melissa I am French and I am engaged with a U.S. Citizen living in Ohio. And as for now, we sent our application early November, received the NOA1 11/16/2015 and our case was forwarded from TSC to CSC.

My question has most probably been asked already, but I can't seem to find online an answer that matches our situation.

So basically my fiance (who is the petitioner), has worked twice (he is 22). But it was paid cash and he never filled for taxes etc..

He is currently in the Marines Recruitment Process, training every week, and supposed to enter DEP in January (basically a delayed entry program) which means we are not quite sure when exactly he will be in basic training and start earning regular incomes. I know co-sponsoring is possible, and that his mother will do it for us.

So my questions basically are:

If the contract is signed already which can prove that he will be paid at some point + having a co-sponsor will be enough? And if for some reason he did not sign the contract yet, will just a co-sponsor be enough? Did anyone get approved without any current income but a co-sponsor?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, filling for a visa is very stressful, I realize that. I may be stressing out for no reason or I may be right. It is so frustrating to have to go through so much just to be together. We wanted to do it the other way, my fiance to come in Europe, but he does not speak French and preferred to do it the other way, especially that he is really willing to serve as a Marine.

PS: He has been looking for a part-time job on the side which has not been successful so far.

It wouldn't hurt to have a sponsor. You never know with the gov't, they are finicky. As long as your sponsor has sufficient income there won't be any problems, as long as SOMEONE shows that they can support you
