K1 Visa NOA2 Approved...what's next?

Hello,

I received my NOA2 approved status on 12/9. I understand from reading VJ posts that my next step is to contact NVC for a case number after 10 business days. It's only been 4 so I'll wait til end of week to call NVC.

Once I have my case number, what should I do next? When should I complete the DS-160 form everyone is talking about? Will I be able to schedule the interview date or will it be assigned?

Appreciate your responses.

Thanks.

When NVC receives your file they will assign a case number. Your file will then be sent to the embassy and you can complete the DS160. You may want to correct your timeline as your country reads Armenia but ur profile shows it Vietnam.

Each consulate works a bit differently so you may want to look in the Vietnam portal for interview information.

Best of Luck!

It might take 10 business days, it might take longer. That plus many people taking extended time off for the holidays.

Once you have your HCM- number, go to CEAC website and start tracking your site. I would not recommend filling out the DS160 just yet. Wait until you have confirmed that your case paperwork has arrived in Saigon to do so. You pick your own interview appointment.

10 days is pretty aggressive not sure where all those posts are at. I thought it was more like 30 and as frontgear suggests it is holidays. Interview dates you choose from whatever is still available. We only had 2 dates avail when first presented, like 7 days later and 30ish days later....so we opted for the latter....since 7 days was pretty tight timing.

From NOA2 to NVC took me 23 days. From NVC to VN Embassy took another 5 days. Your case will vary during the holidays tho so it could be longer.

I filed my I-139f case on Nov 4 and received a NVC notice that the file has been sent to the consulate in HCMC on Dec 29. They probably got the package already by now. This is moving faster than I had expected :). Do I have to do anything or just wait for the consulate to contact my fiance and give her instructions on what she needs to do? I just came back from there today. We traveled for 2 weeks and took many pictures with friends and family including visiting my mom's and her dad and grandpa graves. It was our 3rd meeting in 12 months. My father came back with me for the engagement ceremony. I will send her my ticket stubs and used visas as proof. Hope she will be interviewed within 2 months and pass.

The consulate should be sending her the Packet 3 already. Give it a few more days and if she doesn't get it by then, contact the consulate by filling out the online inquiry form on their website. They can email you a copy of the Packet 3 letter and she can use it for vaccinations and med exam. That is what happened to us. Our Packet 3 letter never came and we used the letter they emailed us.

The process is moving quickly for us as well. I just returned from VN, we traveled to Singapore and Malaysia together. My fiancée is scheduled for interview 3/29/2016. I'm flying back to accompany her on 3/27/2016. I am awaiting my email copy of package 3 to get the letter for medical and vaccination. Other than that, we are pretty much ready. I will print out all our pics, emails, call logs, and have I-134 completed for her interview. good luck to us both.

It's funny but we also went to Malaysia and Singapore. I could not come back to VN initially because the one exit/entry visa is considered used when I flied to Malaysia. I lost the tickets and stayed an extra day.

Since your fiance's interview is on March 29. My fiance's interview will probably be in April. I wont be with her for the interview but hopefully I can accompany her to the US if she is approved. Good luck.

Congrats jnguyen. I have questions. Did your finance come to IOM in HCM city to do DS160 and schedule for interview or you do it by yourself. Do we need to have a single affidavit letter in order to go to the interview?. Please let me know. Thanks in advance

DS-160 and scheduling interview is done online by you or your fiancee. You do not need a single status affidavit unless you have been married before, in which case you'll need a copy of your divorce decree.

Hey Jnguyen,

As our NOA2 is just around the corner, so Im starting to collect the supporting documents and clear the next steps out.

Could u please detail what you, petitioner should send to beneficiary in Vietnam (abt financial documents, supporting evidences, so on)?

and also, what did she prepare herself prior interview?

I did check and read from so many threads here in VJ but still confused.

My fiancee's interview is scheduled for October 6. I am going to head over there for the big day. One thing I want to confirm with people on here is that some places I have seen mention of a Readiness Sheet that needs to be sent with the other documents on the instruction sheet, but there is nothing in the instructions about this. Anyone have recent experience with this?

From the instruction sheet it looks like all that needs to sent in advance is the DS-160 Confirmation, 2 visa photos and a passport copy. Everything else you bring along. Is that right?
