I'm confused about the status of my case. I received NAO2 about a month ago. The letter goes on to say that my case has been sent to the NVC. I thought that I was supposed to send my affidavit statement of support to the NVC but when I called the NVC they told me that my case has already been sent to the consulate in Rio. On the embassy website it says to send documents to the NVC. On the call with the NVC they told me that I should send the financial support documents to my Fiance. I have also tried to email the consulate in Rio. I wrote to them in portuguese as suggested on the consulate info page here on vj. They took a week to respond with no info;literally nothing. Well, to be fair they did ask me for my name and case number but for a general question, its like going to a library and asking if they have books for sale and they respond like 2 hours later and then just say: Oh yes, I can help, what your name and library card number? But that beside the point. The phone number I've been refers to just refers you to email them. Does anyone know if I should just send the documents to my fiance and they will review it at the interview? or Do I send my documents directly to them, so that they can review it and schedule the interview? Can anyone give some clarification please?

If NVC didn't ask for them, send it to your fiancé. The consulate officer will look at all relevant documents (as they have the final say). That's my suggestion.

Here's the Info page here on VJ all about K1 packet 3 and 4. All you are to get from NVC is your case#.

Hi. The files go to your fiancé. Your fiancé will have to bring the affidavit of support to the interview along with the papers they require (pay stubs, 1040's,W-2s, job verification letter, bank letter, etc)

If you have any question, just ask. My fiancé has her interview on the 5th in Rio.
