i had my interview at seoul embassy for my k1 visa but had one missing document the Korean police record certificate. the officer said visa will be approved once i sent the document. that was Dec 4th i got the paper on the 10th and sent it to the embassy. on the 11th my visa status read "ready" then on Monday the 14th it said "administrative processing" it also said the processing took a few weeks and two business days to be delivered once approved. problem is we had planned our weeding booked a place and sent invites for the 20th my ticket is ready for this friday and now i'm thinking of canceling because my visa status hasn't changed and passport is still at the US embassy. anyone with the same experience? how long did it take from the interview untill u got an approval/passport. we have only three days left and will be starting canceling all. so stressfull

thanks

I haven't experienced this for myself (as we are going to have our interview in 2 weeks), but I think it takes 2-3 days for the passport to be delivered depending on the location (which I presume you opted for rather than picking up the visa at the embassy in person).

However, since it is still in AP rather than approved, it is hard to say exactly when it will be delivered.

I would say that the 20th is too close for comfort in terms of timing. In the best case scenario, your case will get approved today or tomorrow, you should still expect for the passport/visa to arrive on the 17th or 18th. You could try calling the consulate today and see how they are doing as I found them to be pretty effective and prompt in getting things done, but still the timing is cutting it way too close (especially since you plan on departing on the 18th).

To be honest, I would probably reschedule the wedding (or at least tell folks to be prepared in CASE you reschedule).

PS: Congrats on getting through the interview stage! I'm pretty anxious about it at this point.

At this point all you can do is wait and hope. Making plans before having the visa in hand is risky.

i just checked my status and it says "issued"!!!!!!!!! super relieved now. yeah i'm in Seoul i should have it tomorrow or thursday. no changes. so happy.

My interview itself wasn't stressful at all it took less than 10 min and i was free to go. i was just worried because i didn't get an approval right on spot but rather the blue paper with missing document. So before you go make sure you have exactly everything with copies just in case. there are two criminal records needed for foreigners in Korea which i didn't know. the first one is issue the same day at the police and the other one "police record certificate" takes maximum 7 days to be issued. in my case i got it in 5 days.

Thanks a lot for answers. and yeah they are pretty efficient
