I think he went in 1985, before his legal issues and the murder trials. I don't know that there was anything that would have prevented him from getting in at that time. AFAIK, the NFL hall of fame doesn't have a contingency for removing players after they are in.

I'm not sure if he is a horrible representative of the game of baseball. Doc Gooden was never banned, neither were Manny or A-Rod or the whole list of guys suspended for drugs. Mikey Mantle and Willie Mays were banned in 1983 for working in a casino.

They changed the rules for Rose...twice.

How about this guy? He might be considered a horrible representative of football...
