I'm the USC applying for my fiance under a K1 Visa. He should put parent? He's my parent but not hers.

This question is in regards to question 3 on the i-134. Question 3 it states "3. This affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person:"

After this it ask for there name, residence etc... and then states "Relationship to sponsor"

We put "my sons fiance" Is this correct?

It's asking for relationship to the sponsor. You are the sponsor, therefore his relationship to you is your parent.

Hello everyone,

I'm slightly confused about sponsoring and / or cosponsoring my fiancé for the k1 visa.

First let me explain my situation.

I'm the USC petitioning on behalf for my Fiance.

I made 14,000 Dollars this year (2015) and therefore do NOT make above the poverty level guideline, and need another person to sponsor my fiancee using form i-134.

My parents are wiling to sponsor her, Separately they do NOT make enough to do so. However as a household they do.

I've been told each of my parents can fill out a separate i-134 form. and just to be safe, can also fill out and i-864 and i-864a.

My fiance can take all forms to the immigration office and let the officer choose which he wants. etc.

Here's my question.

They are each going to fill out an i-134. Should I also fill out an i-134?

For safety they will also fill out an i-864 and i-864a. Should I fill anything else out to go along with this.

Regardless I plan on sending everything in, I'm just wondering if there is anything extra or if I'm doing it right.

thanks

I've asked this before but I'm kind of nervous and want to get a better answer. I don't make enough to sponsor my fiance. My parents joint income does, but not there individual income. Can all three of us send in an i-134 with for my fiance?

Are they real strict about this? (The interview is at Juarez Mexico)

Thanks

hi

wrong, the i864 and i864A are for when you get married and adjust status, in that stage the i864A is for combining incomes so both of them can sponsor your wife

with the i134 there is no combining incomes, 2 i134 do not add their incomes, only one can be your joint sponsor, as nobody can combine incomes to make enough

you will have to find someone else for your fiancé visa, once you marry and file the adjustment of status, your father can sign the i864 and your mom the i864A and they would be combining their incomes

hi

you are the petitioner and primary sponsor so you fill out an i134 regardless and you will need to find someone else, neither of your parents qualify for the fiancé stage to be your joint sponsor

when you marry you will also file the i864 regardless of income, there your parents can file the i864 and i864A

Current income is the income that counts.

With that last post, that the current income is what Counts.

I'm self employed working for a contractor. This past year I made 14000. ( So I didn't make enough. That's because I was working part time while in school) I've graduated since then and am make 14 an hour working 40 hour weeks. Which is close to 27,000 annually which is more than enough to qualify. Will they take that into consideration? Or will they just look at this years taxes, see that I only made 14000, and be expecting a co-sponsor.

Also I'm in the process of building my fiance and I a house (on a piece or property that belongs to my parents. I've just started so haven't had an appraisal or anything. But I do have recites for all the materials and at the time of her interview it should be about 80% complete and have a rough value of 15,000 to 20,000 with no loans.

And thanks for the input everyone. I really appreciate it

The relationship to sponsor would in fact be 'Son's fiancee' or 'Future daughter-in-law'. The person above is incorrect. It IS asking about the relationship to the sponsor, but it is asking for the relationship of the person being sponsored to the sponsor filling out the affidavit.

As for wanting 'a better answer' to the question about the parents filing jointly, all I can do is provide a link to my previous answer about it. I have no 'better' one. It remains the same. > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/576911-i-134-co-sponsor-for-k1-visa/?p=7929125

And Juarez is typically not very strict about the financials and affidavit of support. And taking the I-864 and I-864A from the parents is not something that has not been done before for a K-1. Sometimes a CO will even withhold the visa and ask for an I-864 from the joint sponsor. This has happened at varying consulates, including Juarez.
