Hi there!

I'm new to this forum... sorry for any "stupid" question!

I've been looking for information about the Follow To Join process, but it's not easy to find them!

My husband is a LPR of US and applied for the follow to join process for me (italian citizen, Canadian PR).

Since it's an Immigrant Visa it will be processed by the US Consulate in Montreal.

I found a lot of information about K1 and CR visas but nothing about the follow to join.

Please help!

Thanks and good luck!

You were married before he became a permanent resident, right? What category did you husband immigrate in? (How did he immigrate?)

If he immigrated in a category that allows spouse as a derivative beneficiary, and you were already married at the time he became a permanent resident, then yes, you can immigrate now as his derivative beneficiary. He doesn't need to petition you. This is called "follow to join". If you're doing it through a consulate abroad, he would begin by filing I-824.
